After reading the book description of ‘Dangerous King’, I was fascinated. I hadn’t read any books by Sienna Snow before, but I loved the idea of a love that started as a childhood romance. So when I received the ARC, I started reading immediately.
Unfortunately, I soon found out that this book is not really for me. From the moment I started reading I found myself wondering if I was reading the second book in a series. I just kept feeling like I missed something. The main characters are in each other’s world, although not on speaking terms, but when you read the book description it seemed as though they didn’t know each other anymore. This really confused me.
The romance between Nik and Danika was nice, but it missed chemistry if you ask me. I did enjoy the ‘pining for each other from a far’ bit, but I just didn’t really get their story. I for one wouldn’t be able to just go and talk like their haven’t been many years since they last spoke. And when they finally ‘reconnected’ I felt like there where just to many moments between the sheets for them. I mean I don’t mind sexy moments, but this was just a little to much for my taste.
The feeling that I missed information about these characters and their world stayed throughout the read. I didn’t fully get what was going on (maybe it’s still the pregnancy hormones that are lingering inside my body) and it made this a hard read for me.
So, although this book got raving reviews on Goodreads, it just wasn’t a book I enjoyed. I didn’t connect with the characters and I just couldn’t really get into this story.

I am sorry that this one didn’t work out for you, Maureen. It is hard when you don’t connect with the characters.
Yes, this book just wasn’t for me.
