If you’re a regular visitor here on Maureen’s Books, you know that I love Marni Mann. She is one of those authors I simple want to read everything from. Luckily for me, I am a part of her ARC team and when I read that she was writing a new series I was so excited. So when I received ‘Mr Hook-Up’ I started reading as soon as I could.
In ‘Mr Hook-Up’ we read the story of Easton. Easton and his best friends have developed an app that should make it easier for people to find a one-night stand. The last thing Easton expected was for him to meet ‘Love’, a username, online. From the moment he starts talking to her, there is more between them than just a simple one-night stand. Easton and Love have an intense connection right from the start. But although they seem to be perfect together. Love disappears on him.
Now five years later the app is a big success and Easton and his friends are working hard to make things even more successful. And although work keeps him very busy, Easton never forgot about Love. But when Easton and his friends hire a new recruit called Drake, he finds himself feeling things he didn’t expect to ever feel again. Drake immediately grabs Easton’s attention and soon he tries to spend as much time with her as he possible cans. The last thing Easton expects is for Love to reappear in his life at the same time he finds himself finally being attracted to someone else.
Honestly, I devoured ‘Mr Hook-Up’. At first, when I read the book description, I wasn’t sure if this was a book for me. I mean I love Marni Mann, but I’m not always a big fan of books that are more erotic than romantic. And this book title made me think this book wouldn’t have a lot of romance. Luckily I was so wrong. Easton is supposed be a bit of a womanizer, but from the moment he starts talking with Love he changes. And I loved how easily he was swept away.
‘Mr Hook-Up’ had a fun twist I expected, but didn’t love any less because of it. The chemistry between the two main characters was amazing and I loved everything about them. Especially Easton’s character made me swoon. He was just so nice, fun and manly. Sigh.. And the best thing about this book.. no 3rd act breakup.
I also loved how Drake was such a strong, high educated woman. I loved how much she loved her job and how hard she worked to get where she was. Her past choices might have been heartbreaking, but in the end it was the best thing for her and I loved that it wasn’t all perfect.
‘Mr Hook-Up’ was a wonderful read I read in a day. I loved the two main characters and I also can’t wait to read the other books in this series. Easton has two best friends that will make for some great books.
