A scorching hot enemies-to-lovers office romance from USA Today best-selling author Marni Mann …
In the legal world, everyone knows my last name. So, when Declan Shaw—the hottest, most ruthless and sought-after litigator in the state—comes in to mentor my class’s mock trial, I decide not to reveal that piece of personal information.
I want a one-on-one with him like I’m any other law student, especially when we go out to celebrate after class.
But the one-on-one ends with us in the alley behind the bar.
With us stripping off our clothes.
With me screaming his name.
It’s desperate-to-have-you, no-holds-barred, downright filthy sex.
And then, he ghosts me, like a complete alphahole.
But a few weeks later, when I walk into The Dalton Group—my family’s law firm—where I’m starting my internship, my new boss is waiting for me.
The man I despise.
The man I can still taste in my fantasies.
Declan Shaw.

Ever since I read my first Marni Mann novel, I was hooked to her way of writing. So when I was approved to  join her ARC Team I was really excited. And I’ve devoured every book written by her since. So when it was time for ‘The Intern’ to arrive on my kindle, I was super excited. And when I was able to start reading, I dived right in.

In ‘The Intern’ we read the story of Hannah and Declan. Hannah has worked hard to get her law-degree and be the best in her field. Even though her last name is already well known in the legal world, she wanted to be the best because of what she did and not because of her name. And now she has almost proved herself the way she always wanted too. Of course she knows all about Declan, the handsome and fierce litigator. And she is determined to learn from him. Even if that means she has to keep close to him and accept his unkindness, and also the connection that seems to pulse between them.

I love Marni Mann. She has a way of writing characters that just end up feeling like long lost friends. And in this book it is definitely the same. I loved Hannah, and she honestly felt like a friend in the end. I love how driven she was and how she was able to stand up to herself. She worked very hard, even if she didn’t really have to because of who her family was. She could have easily been a bit lazy, but she was the complete opposite. And I loved that about her.

The intense connection between Hannah and Declan was definitely something I could feel flying off through these pages. And their chemistry sure was amazing and I loved reading this story from start till finish. There was just something about these two that pulled me in.

But although I adored the moments between Hannah and Declan, I would have preferred there to be a little less intimate moments and a little more getting to know each other. I mean I could feel their strong connection, but I sure wished we could have read a little more about this connection without them taking their clothes off.

But overall ‘The Intern’ was a great read I easily devoured.

About Marni Mann

USA Today best-selling author Marni Mann knew she was going to be a writer since middle school. While other girls her age were daydreaming about teenage pop stars, Marni was fantasizing about penning her first novel. She crafts unique stories that weave together her love of darkness, mystery, passion, and human emotions. A New Englander at heart, she now lives in Sarasota, Florida, with her husband and their yellow Lab. When she’s not nose deep in her laptop, working on her next novel, she’s scouring for chocolate, sipping wine, traveling, or devouring fabulous books.
