When I first read the book description of ‘The Difference Between Somebody & Some I knew this was a book I wanted to read. I’ve never read a book by Aly Martinez before, but I’ve heard so many great things about her writing that I was super excited to start reading.

This book was right from the start very different than what I expected. No slow introductions, bam we start right away. And it sure was interesting. The two main characters Remi and Bowen definitely where fun to get to know. Remi is this fun woman who talks way too much. And I loved her from the start. She just had these quirks I really liked and that made me laugh

Bowen’s character took a little longer for me to like. In the beginning he just was so broken and sad. And his story just made me really sad. But the more I got to know him, the more I really started to like him. And when he started to finally be himself with Remi, I really loved him.

Both characters where in the same plane crash, and there life changed drastically since. They both where lost in there own ways, but when they meet a few months later they are overwhelmed with their instant connection. And the writer definitely had some surprises for us.

‘The Difference Between Somebody & Someone’ was a very unexpected read that definitely blew my mind. I enjoyed getting to know these characters, but the romance didn’t really work for me as much as I hoped. And I can’t even really explain why. But if you’re looking for an unusual mind blowing read, this book is definitely for you.
