As you can see in this Sunday Post’s title, we are back in a complete lockdown here in the Netherlands. Only five days before Christmas, everything with the exception of essential stores like grocery stores are being closed. We can celebrate Christmas, with only 4 people, but that’s the exception. On ‘normal’ days we have to stay inside as much as possible. And this will be the case until at least January 14th is the plan. I’m not sure what I’m feeling about this at the moment! It’s just crazy to me that we are in the exact same place as last year.. Will things ever be normal again?
This weekend I’m working my last weekend shift at my current job. Next week I have to work on Wednesday and Thursday.. and then it’s done. After eleven years working as a senior traumatology nurse, I’ll be doing something very different. No hospital, no acute care, no different shifts, no COVID patients.. I’m terrified, and super excited at the same time. It will be an emotional week for sure.
As you might have noticed, I finally got the UBB plugin working and I’m super excited about it. I’m still working on finding out how to make things look good again on my review posts. (With an ‘read more’ button etc. ) But I’m getting there.
I hope you guys are doing well! What have you been reading?

I’m sorry you’re in lockdown – again. Normal? I thought this year would be normal….sigh…
Thank you for your service as a senior traumatology nurse. The last few years you have literally been putting your life on the line. People I’ve spoken with who have been hospitalized with COVID always discuss the many kindnesses of their nurses – their angels.
May you enjoy this well-deserved next step in y9our life!
Thank you Patricia. You’re to kind.
Have a great week and happy reading.
Oh I’m sorry to hear about the lockdown. I saw something on the news about that. Here things are really bad and Omicron seems to be coming like a freight train, but people here just do whatever. Hoping for the best, and that things aren’t too bad there. Lockdown right before Christmas though- I feel for you guys!
Best of luck on your job change as well- I hope it goes fantastic!
Yes it’s definitely very bad timing. I’m glad I already had all my Christmas shopping done in November, and that my close family consists of three people. There are still four people allowed at Christmas only.
Have a great week and happy reading.
I’m so very proud of you❤
Love you!
Okay, my comment totally disappeared! Trying again. I hope you safely get through the lockdown and that you enjoy your new job.
I am still hoping for the variants to stop coming, but that might be impossible for a while.
I got my booster shot in November, so I feel somewhat safe, but still keep close to home.
Enjoy your week and the holidays, and here are my WEEKLY UPDATES
Thank you Laurel. I’m definitely hoping these different variants are coming to a stop soon.. But I’m afraid that won’t happen anytime soon to be honest.
I’m glad you got your booster!
Happy reading.
Oh wow. A lockdown again? That’s crazy. Just when I think we’re heading back to normal, things like this happen by us too. We haven’t reached that yet and I’m hoping we can stay on this somewhat normal path, but who knows what will happen come the holidays!
Nice new reads! Those are new to me ones but I hope you enjoy them!
Here’s my StS
Have a GREAT day!
Old Follower 🙂
Yes it’s crazy. I definitely didn’t think we would be here again. And the worst thing? They announced it on Saturday, and it started Sunday morning. Although we did expect things to close up more, this was just really soon. I’m glad I already got my Christmas presents.
Happy reading!
I’m so sorry things are exactly the same as last year. It’s hard to believe. 🙁
It sure is. I’m so grateful I love reading.. Sigh..
Happy reading.
Sorry you have to endure lockdown again.
I love Samantha Young and need to check out this new book she’s putting out.
Thank you Alicia. Samantha Young is definitely one of my favorite authors.
Happy reading.
I’m sorry the lockdown is so hard for people but I hope it gives the hospitals a breather and less spread during a highly infectious period. I think it will be very bad in the US by mid January. Because there are many people not vaxxed, not wearing masks or distancing or any precautions. (Sorry I was in the car most of the past week, but glad to hear UBB is going ok)
I hope you have a wonderful holiday and some time to relax over the next few weeks.
Anne – Books of My Heart This is my Sunday Post
Thank you Anne. I hope you have a wonderful holiday too.
Stay safe and happy reading.
I hope the lockdown is able to be lifted on Jan 14. It sucks it is happening, however. Yes, the job change sounds like it will be an adjustment. Thank you so much for the review of Forever After–I can’t wait to read it!
Thank you Victoria. I hope you get to read Forever After 😉
Happy reading.

When is someone going to come with a plan, instead of hopping from lockdown to lockdown and booster to booster? This can’t be normal life FOREVER right?!
I feel really MOEDELOOS. But okay. I’m glad to be celebrating Christmas with family, now that my trip to London is cancelled. Let’s try to see the small, positive things?
Yes!! Moedeloos.. is so the right word for it! And I work in the hospital myself, I know something has to happen.. but still it just frustrates me.
I hope you’ll have a great Christmas. Fingerscrossed we both get to go to London next year 😉
Happy reading.
Sorry to hear about the latest lockdown, Maureen. At least it’s being taken seriously there. Over here Omicron is moving through like a freight train and people are just carrying on as if they’ve never heard of Covid. No lockdowns, no nothing. Yesterday I had to go into a store and 90% of the people weren’t even wearing masks. At this rate, it’s hard to even imagine a return to normal.
How strange they are all acting like nothing is going on! I really don’t understand it. Don’t we all wish things would be different, but unfortunately they aren’t different. And people are still getting really really sick. Sigh..
Happy reading!
