Today it’s Mother’s day. My first Mother’s day as a mother of two and I feel so blessed. Being a mom is the hardest, scariest, most thrilling, greatest thing in the world and I’m so lucky to be a mom to these two sweet babies.
This week was pretty good. Baby boy slept through the night for the first time this week, and managed to do it two more times after that. OMG.. I didn’t realize how much I needed a good night of sleep until I actually had a good night of sleep. LOL! Let’s hope he keeps doing it!
I finished reading ‘Shadow and Bone’ by Leigh Bardugo this week. I wanted to read it before I started watching the Netflix show. And I had the book standing on my shelf for years. Well.. I finally read it and must say I loved it! I already bought the second and third book as well and can’t wait until the arrive and I can start reading. (Why haven’t I read this one earlier? Sigh.. ) So.. hopefully I’ll be able to start watching the show on Netflix too this week. I’m curious how they managed to film this one. Have you guys seen it?
I managed to get my eyebrows done this week. I hadn’t been able to do that since November last year I think, so I was super excited. Our girl was at her sitter, and baby boy was sleeping in his stroller.. I think I definitely deserve some mom points for how in control I was. LOL!
Tonight my parents are coming for dinner. And I got my mom a little gift, so I’m excited to see her face when she opens it.
I hope you guys are doing well! What have you been up too?

What a wonderful picture! Those first few nights when they sleep through the whole night are absolutely magical. I hope you have a wonderful Mother’s Day and a great week!
Thanks Katherine. They truly feel magical 😀
Happy Mother’s day! Hope you have a great one. And yay for the little things! 🙂 It’s nice to be able to do things after so long.
One child Alive looks really good!
Thank you Greg. I can’t wait to start reading ‘One Child Alive’.
Have a great week and happy reading.
Happy Mother’s Day, Maureen! Hooray for getting a good night’s sleep… and being able to go get your brows done (that’s always such a treat). Hope you enjoy your visit with your mom!
Thanks Tanya. It definitely felt like a treat. Funny how 20 minutes doing something just for you can feel so good 😀
Happy reading.
Happy Mother’s Day! I never finished the Shadow & Bone book series, but I loved the TV show. OMG, it’s been so long since I had my brows done. They could use some help, and I’m not brave enough to do it myself.
I’m glad to read you loved the show. I can’t wait to watch it myself.
Have a great week and happy reading.
Happy mother’s day! That’s great to hear your baby boy slept through the night a few times, must be nice to be able to catch up on some sleep. I think I might own a copy of Shadow and Bone, but haven’t read it yet. I hope you’ll have a great week!
Getting some more sleep definitely feels amazing. I almost feel normal again. LOL!
I hope you’ll get to read Shadow and Bone, I loved it.
Happy reading.
That photo is adorable! Oh, yeah, it’s wonderful when they start sleeping through the night. Hopefully that continues! Happy Mother’s Day. ♥
Thanks Diana. 😀
Yay on sleeping 2 full nights!! i can’t imagine how blissful you felt.
I keep hearing so many good things on the Shadow and Bone Netflix series, I just HAVE to read the books soon…
I loved Shadow and Bone. After finishing the book I immidiately bought the next two books. LOL!!
I hope you have a lovely time with your mum and that she likes her present. That is also a beautiful photo! 🥰 This week for me as been pretty dull, cold and wet! However I am very much looking forward to my hair appointment next week! Take care and happy reading. 🙂
Thanks Jessica.
I’m sorry to read your week has been dull. I hope this one is better.
Have fun at your hair appointment and enjoy 😉
How adorable they are x
I enjoyed watching Shadow & Bone but I didn’t read the book so I’m not sure how well it relates.
Wishing you a great reading week
I’m really curious how they’ve filmed that series after finishing the book. I can’t imagine it to be honest. 😀
Happy Mother’s Day! What a lovely picture.
I haven’t read Shadow and Bone, but I did read Six of Crows and there are some characters and stuff from that in the Netflix adaptation. So I am seriously confused! Might still read Shadow and Bone though.
Have a good week and I hope you get a couple of good night sleeps!

Thanks Mareli. I’ve heard some great things about Six of Crows too.
Happy reading.
Happy mother’s day to you! And I hope your mother enjoys her gift tonight. I haven’t read Shadow and Bone yet.
Thanks Gayathri. Shadow and Bone was a great read.
Happy Mother’s Day Maureen!! Your kids are just so cute! I love that picture of them! And yay for Baby Boy sleeping through the night! I know that’s a plus! I was alongside my sister as she raised her first daughter, so I know that’s a big step! Finger crossed that it’s the start of more good nights!
I read Shadow & Bone years ago and really liked it. I didn’t re-read the books before diving into the show, because I didn’t really have that kind of time. I feel like the TV series encompassed a bit more of the series overall? Maybe? I can’t really remember. It’s hard to say since they drew in Six of Crows and had them mish-mash even though the two worlds never really interacted before despite being in the same universe. It was still an awesome show. I’d love to see what people who remember the books think of it. I’m pretty easy going when it comes to books to film when I can’t always remember details. It’s more about how things are presented versus how well it sticks to the book because I know that won’t always be the same.
Nice new reads! Those are new to me ones, but I hope you enjoy them all!
and again, Happy Mother’s Day!! 🙂
Here’s my StS
Have a GREAT day!

Thanks Jessica. And I totally agree with you.. It’s how the film series presents itself. And mostly I don’t even really care if they are a bit different than the book. But I still always want to read the book first. LOL!! But I’m starting to think I’d like to read the complete trilogy before watching the show.
Have a great week and happy reading.
Happy belated Mother’s day, Maureen! It is such a wonderful feeling when your baby starts sleeping through the night. I don’t think that either of my girls ever did when they were that young though. I love that photo of your two kiddos! I hope that you have a great week and enjoy all of your new books!
Thank you Carole. It’s definitely not a regular thing yet.. but I take every hour of sleep I can get. LOL!
Have a great week and happy reading.
Happy Mother’s Day! You have such beautiful children. I’m glad to hear you are getting a bit more sleep. I have a bunch of Leigh Bardugo books but not these. It’s a great narrator for the audiobooks also.
