This week things have been finally going better. After having a stomach bug two weeks ago, I started having a cold last weekend. So that meant I had to take another Covid-19 test, the third one in two weeks. Sigh.. luckily it was still negative and I wasn’t feeling bad or anything.
Next to work, I tried to catch up on my email and blog as much as I could. My back is still killing me at times, so there where a few days I just couldn’t do more at night than lie in bed and read. So that’s what I did.
This weekend is my first weekend off work in three weeks, so I’m spending it with my family, doing some blogging and reading. Next weekend I’ll have to work again, so I’m enjoying every minute this weekend.
This week our country got back into a partial lock-down. Things at the hospital are definitely a little crazy again, and the newly Covid infections in the country are rising with big numbers every day. Because I’m pregnant, I’m not working with Covid patients myself, but work is definitely a lot like how it was in March again. And now, for the first time, our country also has a face mask advice. So life is definitely a little scary again.
But I’m trying to look to the positive things as much as I can. On Monday I’m having my 20 week ultrasound appointment and I’m super excited to see our little boy again. And our little girl is just so fun to be around. She is talking more and more each day. And she is definitely a feisty little one. Today we made an apple pie together and she loved it.
I hope you guys are doing well.

I take my hat off to you for the job you’re doing! Glad you tested negative for covid, and hope you enjoy your weekend off with your family, you deserve it.
Stay Safe
Thank you Chloe 😉
Yeah, we keep getting a lot more Covid cases every day, too. And the hospital is slowly filling up, so doctors and other health care workers are getting pretty worried.
There is a rumor that we might have a semi-confinement coming up, meaning that we’ll only have half of the students coming in to school each week, while the other half has to work from home.
Enjoy the rest of your free weekend today, Maureen, and stay safe and healthy.
I hope the numbers aren’t getting worse over there Linda.
Be safe and happy reading.
Glad you are feeling better! Face Masks are still compulsory here with us as well as social distancing. Otherwise, we are at an okay spot.
Take care of yourself and enjoy your books!
The Sunday Post #15
I’m glad you are doing okay.
Happy reading.
I hope you stay away from the Covid ward and keep safe distance from others. The cases are low here in Dubai but the masks and social distancing are here to stay for a long time.
Thanks Gayathri. I’m definitely staying away as much as I can. The numbers are still getting worse every day. So I’m worried.
Have a great week and happy reading.
Maureen, I am sorry to hear cases are rising for you and that you are still suffering with a bad back, but pleased to hear otherwise you and your family are well and looking forward to your new arrival 👶 There has sadly been a positive case in my year group at school, so we have to isolate at home now. Thankfully the pupil in question isn’t unwell except for a high temperature and no one else is showing symptoms. One silver lining is I have had more time for reading and blogging. Take care and happy reading! 👋📚🙂
I’m sorry to hear you’ve had to be isolate. Glad you’re doing okay though. It’s definitely a hard time at the moment.
Stay safe and happy reading.
Urg! Sorry that the COVID numbers are steadily rising – and I’m glad you are able to stay away from those wards in hospital. I hope your back eases up and how exciting that you get to see your new baby in the ultrasound. Have a lovely week, Maureen:))
Thanks Sarah. It was so special to see our baby boy again.
Happy reading.
Glad to hear things are going better. What a pain you caught a cold now as well, but luckily the covid test was still negative. That’s good you’re taking care of yourself and taking the time to lie down and read when your back is hurting too much. Enjoy your weekend off! Sounds like a difficult time to be workign at the hospital with the cases rising again. I am wearing my mask when I go grocery shopping and it’s good to see more people wearing them. That’s great you get to see your baby again on the ultrasound next week. Have a great week!
The hospital is definitely not a good place to be at the moment. Not as a patient, but also not as a health professional. Things are getting more busy every day.
Stay safe and happy reading.
I think cases are rising everywhere right now almost. I’m glad you don'[t work on that ward. I hope you feel better and have an easier week. We wear masks her but mostly we stay home.

Thanks Anne. Staying home is definitely the best I think.
Stay safe and happy reading.
Sorry to hear that COVID is peaking again over there. That’s gotta be scary working in a hospital and being pregnant on top of it. Glad you’re taking what precautions you can. And yay for a nice break too.
Nice new reads. These are new to me ones. I hope you enjoy them all once you get to read them!
Here’s my StS
Have a GREAT day!

Thanks Jessica. Happy reading.
It seems the second wave is really taking hold in Europe.
Ultrasounds are such a special occasion, enjoy!
Wishing you a great reading week, stay safe x
It sure is. It’s gonna be a strange holiday season I think.
Happy reading.
So glad you are feeling better, Maureen. But sorry to hear that COVID Cases are on the rise again. They are here, too. I am hopeful that after the election here in the U.S. that we will have better leadership. Someone who is willing to actually listen to the experts and take appropriate measures. It’s disheartening how badly it’s been handled up till now. Stay safe!
Thanks Tanya. I sure hope the election will change things for you guys. I’m keeping my fingers crossed over here. 😉
Happy reading.
