Liv’s words cut off as Finn got
closer. The man approaching was nothing like the boy she’d known. The bulky
football muscles had streamlined into a harder, leaner package and the look in
his deep green eyes held no trace of boyish innocence.

It’s been twelve years since tragedy struck the senior class of Long Acre High
School. Only a few students survived that fateful night—a group the media
dubbed The Ones Who Got Away.

Liv Arias thought she’d never return to Long Acre—until a documentary brings
her and the other survivors back home. Suddenly her old flame, Finn Dorsey, is
closer than ever, and their attraction is still white-hot. When a searing kiss
reignites their passion, Liv realizes this rough-around-the-edges cop might be
exactly what she needs…

My Review:

The first
thing that grabbed my attention was the beautiful cover of ‘The Ones Who Got
Away’. I just love it. Isn’t it pretty? And after reading the book description
I knew this was a book I needed to read. So I couldn’t be more excited when I
received the email saying my review request was approved, and I started reading
as soon as possible.

‘The Ones
Who Got Away’ was a book that definitely came at the right time for me. I was
having a little reading slump, and ‘The Ones Who Got Away’ was the perfect read
to get me out of it. Not only is this book written beautifully, but it’s
incredible romantic and so touching. I couldn’t stop reading and definitely
could not get enough.

The main
characters of ‘The Ones Who Got Away’ are Liv Arias and Finn Dorsey. Twelve
years ago Liv and Finn where secret High School lovers. But their High School
time ended dramatically when there senior class prom ended in a brutal
shooting. There were only a view survivors and Liv and Finn lost touch. Both of
them have tried to make something of their lives after leaving there hometown.
But they both still have lots of stuff to get through.

Now twelve
years later they meet again for the first time, finding they’re not really
having the lives they dreamed of.

I
completely fell in love with ‘The Ones Who Got Away’. Roni Loren created a
beautiful, touching story and some amazing characters. There were some heartbreaking
moments, the chemistry between Liv and Finn was amazing and I just loved their
story. The past has been hard on both of them, and they both did different
things to survive. And it was beautiful to read how they found each other again
after all these years and how they saved each other.

‘The Ones
Who Got Away’ is a beautiful, touching and romantic book that teaches us we
have to fight hard for the life we dream off. But we owe it to ourselves and
the people who don’t get the chance, to fight like hell to get the life we want.

About the Author:

Roni wrote
her first romance novel at age fifteen when she discovered writing about boys
was way easier than actually talking to them. Since then, her flirting skills
haven’t improved, but she likes to think her storytelling ability has. She
holds a master’s degree in social work and spent years as a mental health
counselor, but now she writes full time from her cozy office in Dallas, Texas
where she puts her characters on the therapy couch instead. She is a two-time
RITA Award winner and a New York Times and USA Today bestselling author.
