My Favorite.. is a weekly meme hosted by Maureen’s Books. In this meme we share every week something we love with each other. Because let’s face it.. The world can be a dark place and it’s time to share something positive. For more info: My Favorite Meme.
It’s not
hard for me to choose my favorite book series. And the people that visit my
blog regularly probably already know which series is my favorite. To me
it never gets old talking about my favorite book series. I love talking about
it and I love talking with people who like this series just as much as me.

My
favorite book series is, and probably always will be the Harry Potter series. I
grew up reading those books and I still remember how excited I got when a new
book was coming up. I would pre-order it and when the book finally came out I
would read all day until the very last page. And then I would start all over
again.

The Harry
Potter series is the reason why I started reading in English all those years
ago. I didn’t want to have to wait before the Dutch translation came out, so I
asked my mom if I could read the English one. I was around twelve years old,
and although I didn’t immediately understand everything, I kept on reading
until I did understand it all. From that moment on I only wanted to read books
in English.

The Harry
Potter series is the series I’ve re-read many times. And I still can’t get
enough of the books, the characters and the adventures. I still feel myself
wondering if maybe something else will happen. (I know, I’m a little weird. ) I
just love everything about those books. I love the writing, the world J.K.
Rowling created. The Harry Potter series is a part of my life and childhood and
I can’t wait to read the books again. It has been a while.. 😀

I have a confession I'm not proud of. I haven't read Harry Potter series. Any of the books in the series. 🙁
Twilight series was the one that made me addicted to reading novels. And then Fifty Shades and Beautiful Disaster.
I need to start as soon as possible, though. 😀
Thanks for sharing, Maureen.
You definitely should! Go reading right now!! 😉
I know Harry Potter isn't for everyone but I honestly can't understand why not. LOL! I loved Twilight, Fifty Shades and Beautiful Disaster too. Thanks for stopping by 😀
I am pressed to choose between Harry Potter and Outlander. I have read the entire HP series, but not the entire Outlander series. I tell my students all the time that HP is the ultimate book about amazing friendships and love. I have two that started reading the series this year and they are both loving it. I only regret not starting on reading them as they were published as I was growing up. I missed out on that magic.
I keep hearing about Outlander.. I haven't read any of the books. I definitely need to add them to my TBR!
I really think one of the biggest reasons why I love HP so much is that I grew up with it. I remember being super excited that a new book was coming out and losing sleep over it. And I still get excited about everyting HP related.
Thanks for stopping by!
HP is my favorite, too. I didn't start reading it until I was almost 30, but I fell in love. I have read it many times, too. It just doesn't get old. =) I think it's awesome that you started reading English because of the HP books.
HP definitely never gets old! It's amazing!
Thanks for joining and signing up again! 😉
I actually never read the final book in the HP series.
I devoured the last book just as much as the others. I was sad to see the story come to an end but also excited to learn what would happen to the characters I loved so much.
Thanks for joining and signing up again! 😉
I haven't read the HP series, either, Geybie. I have all the books, but I haven't read a single one of them…
Twilight is the one series that got me back to reading again after not having read much for several years.
Nowadays, there are some series that I just can't get enough of, like Nalini Singh's Psy-Changeling series, or her Guild Hunter series, or Kim Harrison's The Hollows. They are SO good!
Have a wonderful weekend, Maureen.

I'm definitely going to read Kim Harrison's series. I've heard so many great things about that one. And I have her latest book in the series waiting to be reviewed.
But I can't remember how life was for I read the HP series. LOL!
Thanks for stopping by! 😉
Great post! I think this series is a favorite for a lot of people, especially those who grew up with it.
Thanks Greg! I definitely agree. When I was at the Harry Potter The Exhibition two weeks ago I was amazed by how many people, from all ages love Harry Potter. Amazing what one book series can achieve.
Thanks for stopping by! 😉
