The explosive, emotional and unforgettable new romance
from the NYT bestselling author of the On Dublin Street series
Alexa Holland’s father was her hero-until her shocking discovery.
Ever since, Alexa has worked to turn her life in a different direction and
forge her own identity outside of his terrible secrets. But when she meets a
man who’s as damaged by her father’s mistakes as she is, Alexa must help him.
Caine Carraway wants nothing to do with Alexa’s efforts
at redemption, but it’s not so easy to push her away. Determined to make her
hate him, he brings her to the edge of her patience and waits for her to walk
away. But his actions only draw them together and, despite the odds, they begin
an intense and all-consuming affair.
Only Caine knows he can never be the white knight that
Alexa has always longed for, and when they’re on the precipice of danger, he
finds he’ll do anything to protect either one of them from being hurt again . .

My Review:

From the very first moment I read about ‘Hero’ I couldn’t
wait to start reading this one. This book sounded just so good and I also
really loved the cover. Strangely this is the first book by Samantha Young I
read. I’ve heard about this author of course but somehow I never got the
opportunity to read a book by her before. So when the Little, Brown Book Group
approached me about this book I got really excited.
In ‘Hero’ we meet Alexa Holland, a PA of a famous
photographer. Alexa is having a hard time lately. Alexa learned her father wasn’t
the hero she thought he was and sadly she also lost her mom through a terrible
accident. Now all Alexa has is her work and her friend Rachel. But when Alexa
meets Caine Carraway everything changes. Alexa knows what damaged Caine when he
was just a little boy and she is determind to help him. But Caine doesn’t want
anything to do with Alexa. But although Caine does everything to keep Alexa
away from him, Alexa never gives up on him.
There are some books, when you know almost right away if
you’re going to like them or not. This book is the perfect example of that
fact. From the very first page I just knew that this book would be a new
favorite for me. Right from the very first page I was hooked and couldn’t stop
reading about Alexa and Caine. There chemistry was almost seeping through the
pages and I just had to keep reading. This story is just so good and addicting
I never wanted it to end. It really was that good.
The main characters Alexa and Caine are truly wonderful.
I loved Alexa and her stubbornness towards Caine. I loved how Alexa just wanted
to show Caine that she understood him and that didn’t have to be alone in the
world. I was totally in awe of her strength and her persistence.
Caine was also a character I somehow immediately liked
even though he wasn’t acting very likeable in the beginning. Somehow I just
knew he would be totally dreamy and perfect if he would only just let Alexa in.
This book is passionate, hot, sexy, romantic and also
really damn funny. The way Alexa stood up to Caine was just hilarious at times.
I would definitely recommend this book to other romance
readers. This book is going on my favorite list. I loved it from the beginning
until the end and there wasn’t one part I didn’t enjoy. This book was just
WOW!!!
