My Review:

When I was looking for Christmas themed reads and saw the
cover of ‘Christmas at Little Beach Street Bakery’ I knew this was a book I
wanted to read. I’ve read a book by Jenny Colgan before, and I knew she had a
really fun way of writing. Although this is the third book in the Little Beach
Bakery series, I can be read as a standalone.

In ‘Christmas at Little Beach Street Bakery’ we spend
the days before Christmas at the little town of Mount Polbearne. Polly
Waterford is super busy in her little Bakery preparing all kinds of nice
Christmas treats. And when she is not busy she is spending her time with her
fiancé Huckle. Everything seems to go right. But when Polly’s best friend
discovers she is pregnant, and Polly finds someone from her past, life changes
rapidly. And soon Polly is trying to save Christmas from becoming a disaster.
In the first view chapters of ‘Christmas at Little
Beach Street Bakery’ it took me a little while to really get into the story. Maybe
it was because I haven’t read the previous two books in the series, but I
didn’t immediately love Polly and Huckle. It really took me a view chapters to
really understand the kind of people they were. But when I did, I loved reading
this book.
‘Christmas at Little Beach Street Bakery’ is
definitely not your average Christmas read. Things aren’t as peachy and perfect
as in most Christmas books, but I really enjoyed that about this book. As we
know of Jenny Colgan, this book also had a lot of funny moments.
And since this was my first book in the series.. I loved
getting to know Neil the puffin. To be honest I had to
google what a puffin was. But when I knew I just loved reading about him. I
definitely want a puffin now too. LOL!!
The thing I loved most of all in this book was the way
Polly’s character developed. She had to go true some pretty hard stuff in this
book. And I was impressed with the way she cooped. There were moments when I
wanted to scream to her to just speak her mind to Huckle. But most times I just
enjoyed reading about how she ‘managed’ everything.
‘Christmas at Little Beach Street Bakery’ is a nice
and fun Christmas read that definitely makes you get in the Christmas spirit. I
loved reading about these characters and that little town.
