Cade Jennings was always there for me when I needed him—until he wasn’t.
I’d spent my entire life loving my best friend’s older brother. Every single one of my birthday wishes was spent hoping Cade would finally notice me.
And then one day, he did.
But not all love stories have happy endings.
It's been years since I left the small town of Sutten Mountain devastated and heartbroken. I’d used the pain to fuel a bestselling novel that solidified I’d never have to return.
Until tragedy struck, forcing me to face the man who shattered my heart.
I thought I’d be strong enough to see him again. I didn’t expect the angry, broken man staring back at me.
But the more time we spend around each other, the more I see glimpses of the man I fell in love with. His touch still owns me. His kiss still brands me. And even after all this time, the feelings I have for him still consume me.
Cade and I are unfinished business, and this time, he’s not letting me leave until we rewrite our story.

When I first read about ‘Rewrite Our Story’ I knew this was a book I wanted to read myself. I haven’t read any books by this author before, but a romance story set in a small town? Add the trope best friends brother, and the words steamy and you have me hooked. And don’t even get me started about that gorgeous cover! So when I was lucky enough to get an ARC of this book, I started reading as soon as I could.

‘Rewrite Our Story’ is the emotional and touching story of Marigold and Cade. Marigold and Cade always had this intense relationship. After losing her mother at a very young age, Marigold started spending more time at her best friends house. And more importantly, with her best friends older brother. Marigold and Cade grow closer and closer throughout the years. Then the last summer before Marigold goes away to college, their relationship develops. Unfortunately not soon after, Marigold gets her heartbroken. She leaves Sutten Mountain, and never returns.

Until now. It’s been years, and Marigold has just published her first book. When her best friends mom suddenly dies, she has to go back to her small home town. And it’s the first time she sees Cade again. But Cade isn’t the same guy she had this major crush on for her whole childhood. And being around him again is torture. But what Marigold didn’t expect was Cade’s determination to make her his and this time forever.

‘Rewrite Our Story’ was right from the start a beautiful and touching story. It’s definitely heartbreaking right away and I found myself hooked to the pages. Not only is the best-friends brother trope one of my favorites, I also love reading about small towns. And this book had both those things!

The two main characters Marigold and Cade where fun to get to know. They shared this intense connection for many years. Even when they where both young children, and I loved reading how their relationship developed throughout the years. The most fun part for me was how this book would go from reading a chapter from the past, to reading a chapter in the present time. I loved that. And the romance was pretty sweet as well.

The one thing that bothered me a little bit was how everything could have gone so different if they just communicated a little better. But on the other hand, both characters where still so young, communication is definitely not something teens are all that well developed in. And the main character Marigold being a romance author sure made up for any small irritation I might have.

‘Rewrite Our Story’ was a fun read I definitely enjoyed. And I hope to read more books by this author one day.
