GoodreadsSometimes you gotta toss your whole life into a burning dumpster to find what’s most important...
Beatrice Archer has always done everything she’s supposed to —worked her ass off, ignored her non-existent personal life, and kept her mouth shut. Now she’s over it. The rat race, respectability…the underwire bras. She’s taking her life back. Starting with moving to Nowhere, Colorado to live life on her own terms.
Now Bea gives exactly zero forks. Beer for breakfast. Sugar for everything else. Baggy sweats and soft cotton undies FTW. Then a much younger and delightfully attractive cop is called to deal with her flagrant disregard for appropriate clothing outside the local diner (some folks just don’t appreciate bunny slippers) and Bea realizes there’s something missing from her little decathlon of decadence…and he might be the guy to help her out.
When it comes to breaking rules, Officer Austin Cooper is surprisingly eager to assist. He’s charming, a little bit cowboy, and a whole lot sexy. But Bea’s about to discover that breaking the rules has consequences. And all of the cherry pies in Colorado can’t save her from what’s coming…
Over the years I’ve read a few of Amy Andrews books. Romance stories involving a cowboy is definitely my kind of read, so when I got the opportunity to read an ARC of ‘Breaking All The Rules’ I simple couldn’t say no.
In ‘Breaking All The Rules’ we meet Beatrice, a 35 year old woman who just quit her job in LA after her boss wronged her. She worked her butt off for years, and now it’s time for her to live without rules. So, Beatrice moved to a small town, rented an apartment and has been eating pie and watching television shows for days.
When Beatrice meets Austin, a 25 year old deputy she is immediately smitten with him. But he is way too young for her, and she definitely should just stay away.
First of all I loved the cover of ‘Breaking All The Rules’. It’s just so pretty and it fitted the story perfectly. And it definitely would have made me want to grab a copy just by looking at it. And luckily enough, I also really enjoyed this read.
The romance between Beatrice and Austin was amazing. They had some amazing chemistry right from the start and I loved it. The author definitely made us wait for a while before Bea and Austin gave into their attraction. But when they finally did, the sparks where definitely flying. And I loved how I totally forgot about the whole age-gap thing. And lets face it.. Age is just a number!
My favorite character was easily Austin. He might have been the youngest, but he was definitely more mature than his age would suggest. He was kind, hardworking and above all a swoon worthy deputy. I loved him. Beatrice was a bit frustrating at times. Especially in the end, but I still enjoyed reading her characters point of view as well.
The setting in the smalltown of Credence also was fun. I just loved the whole small town vibe. The story moved a bit slow at times though, but it didn’t bother me too much.
‘Breaking All The Rules’ was a fun, entertaining and very romantic read with some fun characters.
