Today I’m excited to participate in the Blog Tour of ‘Outmatched’ by Kristen Callihan & Samantha Young. This is a standalone contemporary romance novel that is out NOW!
Samantha Young is one of my favorite authors. And I try to read as much of her books as I possible can. So when I saw the sign up for her new book, co-written by Kristen Callihan, I simple couldn’t resist and signed up as fast as I could. And when I got approved I was completely over the moon and anxious to start reading.
‘Outmatched’ is the story of Parker Brown and Rhys Morgan. Parker is this smart, responsible woman who rarely has an interest in man. And Rhys is this ex-boxer who everyone things is just a simple jog. Well, both Parker and Rhys are so much more than you’d think in the beginning. And I really loved these characters right from the start. Well.. Loved.. I adored these characters.
The chemistry between Parker and Rhys was palpable from the very beginning. They are both from different worlds, and they life totally different lives. But they felt this attraction from the start. And let me tell you.. You could feel it flying of the pages, and I loved it. I loved their funny interactions, I loved their romantic scenes, and I loved the setting.
The writing in this book was pretty damn good if you’d ask me. I loved the funny, romantic way the authors wrote this book. I simple couldn’t get enough of them. And there are many side characters that I enjoyed reading about, and of which I wondered if we would be reading more in the future.
Yes, this book was definitely one I really loved. I loved everything about it and just couldn’t stop reading until I finished every single page. It really was that good. And the most interesting part about this book was the whole boxing bit. I know so little about the boxing world, that it was fun to read about.
‘Outmatched’ was a great read that makes you hope for more.

My phone dinged loudly. I fumbled around my bed, finally finding the damn thing under a pillow. Wiping the sleep off my face, I rolled onto my back and read the text that had pulled me out of a pleasant sleep. I smiled. It was just so … Parker. Settling in, I answered her.
RhysThis: Don’t have to tell me who you are. Your number is programmed on my phone.
What do you want?
AngryTink: Well, good morning to you too, Happy Pants.
My smile turned into an evil grin. The girl was always going to punch back and make it count.
RhysThis: That’s Mr. Happy Pants. Though, TBH, my pants aren’t too happy at the moment.
Want to help me out with that?
AngryTink: Tempting. Truly. But, no.
RhysThis: RU sure? ‘Cuz Happy Pants Rhys is much more agreeable than Sad That He Had to Self-Satisfy Rhys.
AngryTink: Would you please behave?
RhysThis: I’m not the one who mentioned the emotional state of my pants.
AngryTink: ARGH!
A chuckle rumbled in my chest as my thumbs tapped out a response I knew would piss her off more.
RhysThis: Was that even English? Honestly, Ms. Brown, I thought you were educated.
She took a moment to answer. I could picture her, phone in hand, grinding her teeth.
AngryTink: You’re deliberately trying to annoy me, aren’t you?
RhysThis: You’re quick. I’ll give you that.
AngryTink: Mr. Morgan, I’m about ten seconds away from finding an alternate fake boyfriend.
A goat on a rope would be a better candidate at this point.
It was cute she thought that was threatening.
RhysThis: Yeah, probably. But the goat doesn’t have a signed contract. I do, Tinker Bell.
AngryTink: ARGH@!!
RhysThis: You’re kind of cute when you talk pirate.

This one sounds like so much fun! 🙂 And I love it when the chemistry is obvious from the start… and it just takes a while for the characters to realize it.
Yes, I really love that book! And in this book it was just perfect!
