Years ago I read Harry Potter for the first time. I never reviewed the books though. And that’s definitely not right if you’ve been an Book Blogger for over three years. So it’s time to finally re-read and review my favorite books.

Harry
Potter, along with his best friends, Ron and Hermione, is about to start his
third year at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Harry can’t wait to
get back to school after the summer holidays. (Who wouldn’t if they lived with
the horrible Dursleys?) But when Harry gets to Hogwarts, the atmosphere is
tense. There’s an escaped mass murderer on the loose, and the sinister prison
guards of Azkaban have been called in to guard the school…

My Review:

Over the
years I’ve read the Harry Potter series several times, and I always look forward
to reading the third book the most. I’ve heard many times that other readers
didn’t really like ‘Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban’ as much as the
other books. But to me it’s definitely one of my favorites.

Why? Well,
because of many reasons. For starters I love the whole Harry-blowing-up-aunt-Marge
part. Hilarious!! That part of the book can still make me laugh! And the
following moment with the Knights bus is definitely a good moment for me. Wouldn’t
you love to go on that bus? I know I would.

But one of
my favorite moments of this book is definitely the moment where Harry gets to
stay at Diagon Alley for the last part of his summer vacation. I remember
reading that part for the first time and just being so happy that Harry got to
stay there and walk around Diagon Alley all day. And admittedly I’ve been a
little jealous of that too. LOL!! Who wouldn’t love spending a week there?!

In ‘Harry
Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban’ Hermoine and Ron definitely start having
some troubles. They don’t agree on a lot of things, and the fact that Hermoine
bought a Cat that is clearly in for Ron’s rat Scabbers, isn’t making things any
easier. But I love these moments. They are funny, and definitely spice things
up a little.

In this
book we also find out about the Marauder’s Map. And what a fascinating piece of
paper that is. I’d love to get my hands on one of those. Wouldn’t life be much
easier? LOL!

And we have
Sirius Black and Prof. Lupin of course. Yes, I definitely love those
characters. I honestly wish we could have seen more of them.
And don’t
forget about Buckbeak the hippogriff. One of Hagrid’s most fascinating
creatures if you ask me.

Yes, ‘Harry
Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban’ is definitely one of my favorite books in
this series. And reading this one always makes me want to read the other once
as fast as I can too.

About the Author:

Although she writes under the pen name J.K. Rowling, pronounced like rolling, her name when her first Harry Potter book was published was simply Joanne Rowling. Anticipating that the target audience of young boys might not want to read a book written by a woman, her publishers demanded that she use two initials, rather than her full name. As she had no middle name, she chose K as the second initial of her pen name, from her paternal grandmother Kathleen Ada Bulgen Rowling. She calls herself Jo and has said, “No one ever called me ‘Joanne’ when I was young, unless they were angry.” Following her marriage, she has sometimes used the name Joanne Murray when conducting personal business. During the Leveson Inquiry she gave evidence under the name of Joanne Kathleen Rowling. In a 2012 interview, Rowling noted that she no longer cared that people pronounced her name incorrectly.
