Over
the years I’ve read several Samantha Young novels, and I all really liked them.
But I never read a book from her bestselling series ‘On Dublin Street’,
although I’ve wanted to for a very long time. So between all the wedding
planning I decided to read ‘Echoes of Scotland Street’. This is the fifth book
in the series, which I didn’t know, but it can be read as a standalone novel.

In
‘Echoes of Scotland Street’ we meet Shannon McLeod. Shannon is trying to start
a new life after she left her latest bad-boy boyfriend with who she had a very
toxic relationship. Abandoned by her family, and feeling very guilty about what
happened with her brother, Shannon starts a new job as a receptionist at a
well-known tattoo shop. There she meets Cole, a guy who may look like a bad guy
but who is loved by everyone who surrounds him. But Shannon is determined to
keep men out of her life, and especially Cole.

From
the moment I started reading this book, I really loved it. Main part of this
book takes place inside a tattoo shop, and since I love tattoos this was a big
plus for me. But the best part was definitely the two main characters Shannon
and Cole. Their chemistry was of the roof and I loved reading about their
romance. Nothing came easy to these characters and I really enjoyed reading
about how they managed to get past their struggles.

And
although the romance between Shannon and Cole was very good to read, I also
loved reading about Cole’s group of friends and families, which stories you can
read in other books from this series. They were just such an awesome group of
people, I’d really like to read more about them all. 

Half
way through this book, I found the story becoming a little slow. Not much was
happening and I wondered where this story might go. Thankfully, the story
became better fast and I couldn’t put it down again until I read the very last
page. 

Yep,
I definitely love Samantha Young and really need to read her other books too.
