My Review:

When I was
in my favorite bookstore a little while back I was looking for an exciting and
thrilling new read. I love reading romance novels. But sometimes I’m just not
in the mood for a romantic read, and really want some action. My eye soon fall
on a copy of ‘Eeny Meeny’ by M.J. Arlidge. My mom told me she really enjoyed
this book, and when I saw that it was a part of a series about a DI, I was
sold.
‘Eeny
Meeny’ is the first thriller about Detective Inspector Helen Grace. Helen is
the perfect police woman. She works hard, has no husband or dreams about having
children and she works almost all the time. When a girl emerged from the woods
and tells her horrible story Helen almost can’t believe it to be real. Two
people were left in a place without food and water, and a gun holding just one
bullet. The only way one of them would be set free was to shoot the other one.
Horrified Helen and her team try to find out what is going on. But soon there are
more victims.
I was
looking for a good thriller and what I found was another series I just have to
read. ‘Eeny Meeny’ was a great book I just couldn’t stop reading. There was one
thrilling moment after the other and my mind was going crazy thinking about
what was really going on. Every time I thought I had it all figured out,
something would happen and I was totally confused all over again. Fantastic!
The main
character Helen Grace was a bit of a mystery and I loved that about her. In the
end there are some secrets revealed but I think there will be much more secrets
revealed in the other books. And I honestly can’t wait to read more books in
this series.

What I
loved most about Helen was the way she wasn’t perfect. Not in her personal
life, and not in her job. Reading about her felt like reading about a real
person.
And then
this murder case.. It was so thrilling, exciting and a little disturbing to
read. I really wanted to know what was going on and I couldn’t stop reading.
This was one of those reads my mind kept going back too even at work.

If you
haven’t read ‘Eeny Meeny’ before.. You definitely should!!
