There are lines best friends shouldn’t cross, but in
Copper Ridge, Oregon, the temptation might be too much…
If practice makes perfect, Connor Garrett should be world
champion of being alone. Since losing his wife he’s concentrated exclusively on
his family’s ranch. Until Felicity Foster needs a place to stay and Connor
invites her to move in temporarily. That’s what friends do. What friends don’t
do? Start fantasizing about each other in their underwear. Or out of it…
Since high school, Liss has kept her raging crush in
check. But helping Connor rebuild his life only reinforces how much she longs
to be a part of it. One explosive encounter, and she’ll discover that getting
what you always wanted can feel better than you ever dreamed…

My Review:

When I saw the sign up for the blog tour I signed up as
fast as I could. I love stories about cowboys and country life. And since I
read this book would also be a romance novel. It just sounded like the perfect
read for me.
In ‘Brokedown Cowboy’ we meet Connor Garrett and his best
friend Liss Foster. Connor has had some really crappy years. Three years ago
his wife died and now the only thing he knows how to do is drink, work on his
ranch and being an ash to people. Liss has been Connor’s best friend for
eighteen years. In the last three years Liss has been Connor’s rock. She brings
him groceries and stays with him when he is having a bad hangover.
So when Liss needs a place to live, Connor decides it’s
time for him to give something back to his friend, and he offers Liss to stay
at his place for a while. Soon this arrangement changes anything.
From the moment I started reading ‘Brokedown Cowboy’ I
loved it. Although Connor seems to be an ash most of the time, he really is not
a bad guy at all. He is just hurt and doesn’t know how to go on anymore. The
friendship between Connor and Liss is from the beginning very enjoyable. It’s
really funny but there’s also a lot of love, hurt and raw feelings.
This book takes place in Copper Ridge, Oregon and mostly
on the Garrett Range. And I just loved this scenery. I could easily see myself
in my cowboy hat walking on that range.
‘Brokedown Cowboy’ is a romantic story, but also a story
filled with friendship, hurt and above all hope. It teaches us to always keep
hope… Even if life seems to be all wrong and not worth living.. the most
important thing to do is keep hope. This book was really an emotional
rollercoaster. It’s a sad story but most of all really beautiful.
I loved this book and couldn’t put it down. This book is
definitely my kind of book. It’s romantic, funny, there are cowboys and horses
and ranch life. Do I need to say more?? LOL.
I can’t wait to read the other books in this series.
