dazzling and long-awaited conclusion to the acclaimed Mortal Instruments
series, Clary and her friends fight the greatest evil they have ever faced:

into creatures out of nightmare, tearing apart families and lovers as the ranks
of his Endarkened army swell.

The embattled Shadowhunters withdraw to Idris – but not even the famed demon
towers of Alicante can keep Sebastian at bay. And with the Nephilim trapped in
Idris, who will guard the world against demons?

When one of the greatest betrayals the Nephilim have ever known is revealed,
Clary, Jace, Isabelle, Simon, and Alec must flee – even if their journey takes

from which no human being has ever returned…

Love will be sacrificed and lives lost in the terrible battle for the fate of
the world in the thrilling final installment of the classic urban fantasy
series The Mortal Instruments!

When I
first read ‘City of Bones’ in the Mortal Instruments series by Cassandra Clare
I was immediately hooked to this series.  I loved how original and exciting this series
was. Although I still can’t understand why it took me so long to find this
series, I was glad I hadn’t found this series earlier because it mend that I
could read ‘City of Ashes’ and ‘City of Glass’ pretty soon after reading the
first book. Unfortunately for me I had to wait for a long time on the last and sixth
book in the Mortal Instruments series. But even though ‘City of Heavenly Fire’
came out a couple of months ago, I just couldn’t start reading it until this
week. Why you ask? Because I just didn’t want this series to end. But now I
just couldn’t wait any longer.
In ‘City
of Heavenly Fire’ we read for the last time about Clary and Jace and their
journey to defeat Clary’s evil brother Sebastian. Sebastian is on a war path to
destroy Shadowhunters around the world and to get what he wants most: Clary.
When the Dark War begins and Shadowhunters around the world are being killed
and transformed in evil creatures, the frightened Shadowhunters flied to their
headquarters in Idris to make a plan to defeat Sebastian. But soon Clary, Jace
and their friends find out that Idris also isn’t save and that there is only one
solution to stop this war. And soon they are on their biggest adventure jet.
I waited
so long to read this book. In my head I thought about many different ways this
series might end. But I definitely could not have thought of this ending. Just
like all the other books in the Mortal Instrument series this book was full of
excitement, adventure, magic, friendship and love. This book really kept me
hooked. And although I’m really sad that this series ends with this book (I’m
still secretly hoping Cassandra Clare decides to make another book about Clary,
Jace, Simon, Magnus, Alec and Isabelle), this book ended in a perfect way.
Honestly, I was really happy with this ending.
The
character I’ve liked the most throughout this series is definitely Jace. I love
how this dark and twisted boy changed in a kind and loving, but still very
stubborn and arrogant man. I loved reading about his journey in the six books
in this series. And I’m really going to miss reading new stuff about him.
I also
really loved Magnus Bane. This sexy and funny warlock really was amazing to
read about.
Truly, the
only thing I can say after reading the sixth book in the Mortal Instrument
series is that everybody who hasn’t read this series must definitely start
RIGHT NOW!! This series is amazing and I can’t wait until a new book of
Cassandra Clare gets published.
