After reading ‘Fake’ by Kylie Scott a few weeks ago, I knew I wanted to read more books by her. So when I saw the sign up for the Blog Tour of ‘Pause’, I signed up immediately. I knew that this book was the second book in a standalone series, so if I’d end up liking it I would be forced to read even more books.. but that didn’t stop me at all. I mean.. isn’t that the story of my life? Adding books to my huge TBR with no hope of ever reading every book I want. LOL!! When the ARC of ‘Pause’ arrived on my kindle, I started reading as soon as possible.

An unpauseable new romance from New York Times bestselling, Audie Award winning author Kylie Scott! When Anna wakes up from a coma after a car crash, she discovers life has gone on without her. Her husband has been unfaithful—with her best friend—and she’s been long since replaced at work. While her old life is a distant memory, her new life feels like an empty shell. Then she meets the stranger who saved her life during the crash, and he changes everything. Leif Larsen—tattooist, joker, and player—has his own scars thanks to the crash that put Anna in a coma. Helping her move on from her failed marriage, and create a new life, sounds like a perfect distraction. So when he needs a new roommate, he invites Anna to begin her new life with him. Although their lives may have been put on pause, together they just might find a way to heal.

In ‘Pause’ we meet Anna. Anna wakes up in a hospital with no memory of what happened to her. Soon she learns that she has been in a coma for months, and that the two people she counted on the most have moved on without her. Now Anna is trying hard to get her life back on track, since everything has changed. She has no place to life, no husband to count on and no best friend to talk too.

Luckily for Anna she meets Leif, the guy that saved her life during the car crash. Leif couldn’t be more different than her. But from the moment they meet, there is a connection between the two of them they can’t deny. Anna and Leif soon start hanging out, and when Anna needs a place to life Leif offers her to move in with him. Soon Anna learns that she isn’t the only one hurt by the car crash, and together with Leif she slowly starts getting back her life.

Boy.. I really felt for Anna from the moment I started reading her story. Working on a traumatology ward in a hospital myself, I know how accidents can change people’s life. And Anna’s story just really touched me right from the start. And I loved her and I absolutely adored Leif. Their chemistry was definitely flying of the pages and I couldn’t stop reading this book.

The only down part for me in this book was that there were a few moments near the end that felt kind of rushed. The moment Anna meets the person that caused the accident for example. That moment just felt a little off to me and I would have enjoyed it more if it was a little more developed.

But other than that I loved this book and I really want to read more by Kylie Scott.
