Theo Silva. Rowdy bull rider. Notorious ladies’ man. Scorching hot trouble wrapped up in a drool-worthy package.
And he’s looking at me like I might be his next meal.
But I’m almost free of my toxic marriage and have sworn off men entirely. So all I see when I look back is temptation served up with a heaping side of heartbreak.

The man is hard to trust—and even harder to resist.
Make that impossible. Because Theo is persistent. And no matter how hard I try to freeze him out, he melts my icy exterior and pulls apart all my defenses.
Over a drink in a small town bar, I blurt out my deepest, darkest secrets. Then I spend the singular hottest night of my life with him.
He worships my body. He makes me blush. I come alive beneath his hands.
Then I tell him to forget it ever happened. I want simple, and with him it all feels complicated.
It was supposed to be a one-time thing.
A secret.
But that little plus sign is going to make this secret impossible to keep.

I’ve been a huge Elsie Silver fan for awhile now and I’ve read every book she has written. Lucky enough I became a part of her ARC team and received an ARC of Reckless a little while ago. And since this book was one of my most anticipated ones, I dived right in.

In ‘Reckless’ we read the story of Winter Hamilton and Theo Silva. Winter has been the misunderstood, ‘ice-queen’, angry sister to Summer (who’s story we read in Flawless, book 1 in the Chestnut Springs series). After realizing that her world has been a lie, it’s time for Winter to stand up to herself and she moves to be with her sister in Chestnut Springs. The last thing she expects is to meet the handsome, rowdy and kind of rude Theo Silva. He is everything she always stayed away from, but he is also the only one who makes her feel things she never felt.

Winter and Theo spend one magical night together, it’s all they promised each other. But for the both of them it felt like more, but life brought them both to different places and they haven’t seen or contacted each other in many months. When they do meet again, Theo is in for a shock. And Winter is determined to keep her distance from the guy who rocked her world. But when there is chemistry so intense like the one between them, it’s impossible to stay away from each other.

I’ve been really looking forward to reading Winter’s story, every since I read about her in book one. I just knew there was something more to her than we learned in that book. And ‘Reckless’ definitely didn’t disappoint. I loved Winter, and learning what she went through and how she grew up made her ‘ice queen’ exterior a very logical act. And above all I loved how Theo saw more in her right from the start.

‘Reckless’ was a romantic, emotional and fun read, just like I got to expect from Elsie Silver. I devoured every word. And although this book had a trope I didn’t necessarily like most of the time, I looooooved it in this book. Elsie had a different take on it than I expected and it was just so good. And it really made Theo even more swoon worthy. He might even be my favorite male character in this series. I couldn’t get enough of him.

‘That night we were reckless.” His voice cracks. ‘But god, I’d be reckless with you over and over again if it means ending up here.”

I mean, how can you not love a guy who talks like that?! We also get to read a little bit about characters from the previous books. I loved reading new things about those characters. But don’t worry, this book can be read as a standalone. I just don’t know why you should, since every book is so so good!

‘Reckless’ was a great read, I loved from start till finish. I couldn’t put it down and loved being in the world of Chestnut Springs again. I’m not ready to say goodbye to this series yet. And I can’t wait to read the next book in the series.

About Elsie Silver

Elsie Silver is a Canadian author of sassy, sexy, small town romance who loves a good book boyfriend and the strong heroines who bring them to their knees. She lives just outside of Vancouver, British Columbia with her husband, son, and three dogs and has been voraciously reading romance books since before she was probably supposed to.

She loves cooking and trying new foods, traveling, and spending time with her boys–especially outdoors. Elsie has also become a big fan of her quiet five am mornings, which is when most of her writing happens. It’s during this time that she can sip a cup of hot coffee and dream up a fictional world full of romantic stories to share with her readers.
