Carter Hills is my moody and hot-as-hell country music star new neighbor. How I didn’t recognize him when I rented the cabin next to his for a month is still a mystery. Yeah, I bet he had a great time messing with me on purpose. And disrupting all my plans.
The guy is not only Nashville's most eligible bachelor, but he’s a pain in my a**. Worse, he’s acting like he knows better. But he is about to discover I can master that game too. I’m not some innocent damsel in distress. I can definitely take care of myself.
My heart rate picks up every time we’re together, but it doesn’t matter, his attitude should be enough to ward me off him. But still, the more I get to know him, the closer I want to get.
Despite our banter, Carter is always coming back for more, and my month-long retreat isn’t going as expected.
Should I push him away, or should I indulge in the fire searing between us and risk being burned?

A little while ago I was approached by Emmanuelle, with a request to read and review her book ‘Pink and Country’. When I read the book blurb, I didn’t have to think about it long. I just love stories about musicians, and this one sounded amazing. So when I got the time, I started reading immediately.

In ‘Pink and Country’ we meet April. April is a struggling author who has a bad case of writers block. So when her best friend offers her a stay in a luxurious cabin in the mountains, she decides she has nothing to lose. The cabin is hers for a month, and it’s better than she could have imagined. Except for the moody and handsome owner of the cabin. Carter is frustrating as hell, but also really handsome. Soon April and Carter spend more and more time together. But when April accidentally finds out Carter is the famous country music star Carter Hills, she wonders how she didn’t notice it before, and what more is he hiding? But their growing attraction is hard to deny, and they grow closer each day.

From the moment I started reading ‘Pink and Country’, I was honestly hooked. I loved the two main characters April and Carter. April is this fun, pink haired writer who I honestly love to have as a friend. She just felt really real to me. And I loved getting to know her. Carter was this troubled, handsome and cocky country singer (I looooove country music!!), with a dark secret. The chemistry between these two characters was amazing and I loved reading their story.

The chemistry, the romance, the setting.. I loved it all in this book. The one thing I didn’t like as much was that the author went back in time almost every time we got to read the other POV. At first it confused me, and after a while I just kept wondering why we moved back every time? It made this book a bit slow at times to be honest. And definitely also a bit confusing.

But with the exception of this POV part, I really loved this book. I loved all the emotions, the storylines and the connection between the two main characters. I was rooting for them from the start, and I loved reading their story. And most of all this book made me want to read more books by this author. There are plenty of side characters I’d love to read more about.

‘Pink and Country’ was a hot, romantic and fun read I couldn’t put down. And if you like romance and music this book is definitely for you.
