He’s rich, talented and way out of her league. Now he’s making her an offer she can’t refuse… Football has always been Cam Hartson’s life. When he's forced to retire following an injury, he slinks back to his small home town, planning to lie low and lick his wounds. Until he meets Mia Devlin. The beautiful single mom of two tearaway boys has no interest in love. She's too busy trying to find a job and keep a roof over her family’s heads to worry about relationships. Even if every time Cam looks at her it sends her heart into a spin. She knows she shouldn’t like him. He’s too ambitious, too confident, too much of everything. But when he offers to be her rebound guy, she finds herself agreeing. Cam wants more than just a few stolen moments. And if there’s one thing he likes it’s a challenge. There hasn’t been one he hasn’t risen to before. As far as he’s concerned, Mia won’t be the one that gets away…

I’m definitely a Carrie Elks fan, and I’ve read a lot of her books. The Heartbreak Brothers series is yet another great series written by Carrie, and I’ve been loving every book so far. The latest book in the series is ‘Somebody Like You’ and I was lucky enough to receive an ARC. So when I got the opportunity to start reading, I dived right in.

‘Somebody Like You’ is the story of Cam Hartson. Cam has been a professional football player for almost a decade. Football is all he knows, and he loves everything about it. But unfortunately things always change and Cam is forced to make a choice about his football career. To think things through, Cam goes back to his hometown and his family. What he didn’t expect was to meet single mom Mia Devlin. Mia’s life is definitely nothing like Cam’s. Mia is recently divorced and barely getting by while taking care of her two sons. Sure Mia sees how handsome Cam is, but she isn’t looking for anything that can make her life more complicated.

From the moment I started reading ‘Somebody Like You’ I was hooked. I simple loved the two main characters Cam and Mia, and I loved how different their lives are. They seemed like a very unlikely love match. But there is some major chemistry between them. And while Cam is determined to spend time with Mia. Mia is determined to stay away from trouble and not make her life more complicated. I loved how Carrie was able to get me hooked to these characters and their story. The chemistry is flying of the pages, and I was so rooting for these two from the start.

There was enough going on in this book to make me want to keep on reading. Yes, the romance between Cam and Mia. But also the relationship between Cam and Mia’s two boys. And not to forget the decision Cam has to make about his career.

Just as in the other books in the series, I loved the small town setting. There’s just something charming about this town and it’s people. And I loved how close Cam is with his family. I also really enjoyed how we also get to read a little about the other Hartson brothers. After reading about them in the previous books, it was fun to read about them again only now through Cam’s eyes.

‘Somebody Like You’ was definitely another great read I enjoyed from beginning till end. Now there’s only one Hartson sibling left and I can’t wait to read her story. Yes.. her. The only sibling we haven’t read about is Becca Hartson, the youngest and only sister of the Hartson brothers.

Check out my other reviews in the Heartbreak Brother’s series:

Carrie Elks writes contemporary romance with a sizzling edge. Her first book, Fix You, has been translated into eight languages and made a surprise appearance on Big Brother in Brazil. Luckily for her, it wasn’t voted out. Carrie lives with her husband, two lovely children and a larger-than-life black pug called Plato. When she isn’t writing or reading, she can be found baking, drinking an occasional (!) glass of wine, or chatting on social media.
