My Review:
I read the
first book in the Chronicles of The One last year and absolutely loved that book,
so I was super excited to start reading this second book in the series. This was
definitely a book I was looking forward too.

In ‘Blood
and Bone’ we are thirteen years further than where the first book ended. Billions
of people have died and the ones that survived are trying to build a new world.
We meet Fallon Swift, a thirteen year old girl that is destined to be the ‘one’.
Not an easy thing to be. Fallon has to leave her family behind to learn more
about her special abilities.

I don’t
know why exactly, but I just didn’t love this book. I had so many high
expectations about this one, since I absolutely loved the first book, but this
one just didn’t work for me at all. I couldn’t really get into the story and I
missed the action the first book was filled with. I also missed some of the
characters I got to know in the first book. It just almost seemed like I was reading
a book from another series. Where the first book also had a pretty good romance
story, this one didn’t. And as a Romance reader I missed that.

What I did
really like was Fallon’s character. She was just a very fascinating and feisty
young girl. I loved how strong she was and how determined she was to do her
very best. She was definitely very interesting to read about and I think her
character was very well written.

But unfortunately
it took me a long time to really get into this book. And since I’ve been on a
reading spree the last view weeks this was definitely disappointing. I didn’t hate
the book, but I just expected so much more. The writing was still pretty good,
I could still picture myself in this ‘new’ world but I was just really missing
something.
