Sometimes,
we just have to revisit old friends. And since I was having a little trouble
reading new things, I decided to re-read a view of my favorites.

About the Book:

https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/10140661-gabriel-s-infernoEnigmatic
and sexy, Professor Gabriel Emerson is a well-respected Dante specialist by
day, but by night he devotes himself to an uninhibited life of pleasure. He
uses his notorious good looks and sophisticated charm to gratify his every
whim, but is secretly tortured by his dark past and consumed by the profound
belief that he is beyond all hope of redemption.

When the sweet and innocent Julia Mitchell enrolls as his graduate student, his
attraction and mysterious connection to her not only jeopardizes his career,
but sends him on a journey in which his past and his present collide.

An intriguing and sinful exploration of seduction, forbidden love and
redemption, “Gabriel’s Inferno” is a captivating and wildly
passionate tale of one man’s escape from his own personal hell as he tries to
earn the impossible…forgiveness and love.

My Review:

I first
read ‘Gabriel’s Inferno’ in 2012 and completely fell in love with this series.
But this series has three books, and although I own all three I’ve only read
the first two books. Why? I have no idea! And since I was having a little book
slump I decided I needed to re-read one of my favorite books and finish the
last book in this series, finally. And let me tell you.. Even for the third
time this book is amazing.

In
‘Gabriel’s Inferno’ we meet Julia Mitchell and Gabriel Emerson. Julia is a
determined, but shy graduate student who didn’t have an easy life. Gabriel is a
professor who is sure his life is not meant to be good. Gabriel works hard as a
Dante specialist, and tries to live his life as alone as possible. But when
Gabriel meets Julia everything changes. The grumpy professor finds himself
intrigued with the young and innocent Julia.

‘Gabriel’s
Inferno’ is definitely one of my favorite books. This book is one of the most
romantic stories I have ever read. And every time I read this book, I still feel
all warm and fuzzy inside. I love the way Gabriel and Julia meet, and slowly
get closer and closer. Gabriel is this grumpy professor and Julia is still kind
of naïve. But the combination of these characters is just amazing. I love them.

Gabriel is
grumpy and has this reputation of being a jerk and bad guy. But Julia makes him
want to change, and we really get to see another side of him. The fact that
Gabriel is a college professor and Julia is his student definitely is a problem
for their growing relationship. But it also made for some fun scenes.

What I
also love about ‘Gabriel’s Inferno’ is all the Dante and Beatrice parts. It
definitely makes me want to find out more about Dante Alighieri. Dante is an Italian Medieval poet, moral philosopher, political
thinker, and author of the poetic trilogy, The Divine Comedy and reading about them just makes me
fascinated.

And
another important fact: this book isn’t filled with sex scenes, which you might
expect when you see the cover. Not at all! There’s just one sex scene and it’s
near the end of the book and it’s just perfect. Nothing strange or funky. Trust
me, if you love romance stories this book is amazing. And even after reading
this book for the third time now I still couldn’t stop reading.

I’m definitely
going to read the second book now too. And if you haven’t read this book yet,
you should definitely start now! 😉

About the Author:

NEW YORK
TIMES, USA TODAY AND #1 INTERNATIONAL BESTSELLING AUTHOR

I’m interested in the way literature can help us explore aspects of the human
condition – particularly suffering, sex, love, faith, and redemption. My
favourite stories are those in which a character takes a journey, either a
physical journey to a new and exciting place, or a personal journey in which he
or she learns something about himself/herself.

I’m also interested in how aesthetic elements such as art, architecture, and
music can be used to tell a story or to illuminate the traits of a particular
character. In my writing, I combine all of these elements with the themes of
redemption, forgiveness, and the transformative power of goodness.

I try to use my platform as an author to raise awareness about the following
charities: Now I Lay Me Down to Sleep Foundation, WorldVision, Alex’s Lemonade
Stand, and Covenant House.
