The
Belshaw brothers are back in Balkissoch…

Bridie Porter is wearing her Vera Wang gown and veil in the back of her wedding
limo when she receives a compromising text about her hotelier groom. Panicked,
she tells the driver to keep going and she flees from Melbourne to the small
town of Balkissoch in the Adelaide Hills.

It’s the perfect pit-stop to hide from her ex and the press and to earn enough
cash to stay out of sight. Unfortunately, the admin job she gets is for a
wedding photography business and she’s had her fill of weddings lately. But
it’s slim pickings on the work front in a town so teeny. And her new boss is
strangely compelling…

After the rush and adrenaline of his job as an LA paparazzo, the last place
Cody Belshaw wants to be is back in the small town where he grew up. But thanks
to a clause in his father’s will that amounts to blackmail, Cody and his two
brothers are stuck running a wedding business for at least a month. If there’s
one thing that he’s learned in LA, however, it’s to keep business and pleasure
very, very separate. Which makes his new admin employee the definition of
temptation.

Bridie is desperate to stay anonymous. Cody seeks out secrets for a living. As
they delve into the world of brides, boutonnières and dogs-as-best-men, both
Cody and Bridie will have to decide if this is a fling…or forever.

My Review:

Since we
recently got married, everything involving the word bride, wedding or marriage
grabs my attention. So when I read the book description of ‘Run For The Hills’,
and read that it was about a ‘runaway’ bride, I knew this was  a book I wanted to read. Especially since the
weather is getting warmer and I always feel like reading a feel-good romance
story when that happens.
In ‘Run
For The Hills’ we meet Bridie Porter, Bridie has fled her wedding without
anyone knowing where she went. After finding out that her fiancé wasn’t who she
thought he was, she knew she had to hide. Especially since her fiancé is a big
name who the paparazzi loves. Bridie soon finds herself in the little town of
Balkissoch in the Adelaide hills, on a job interview for a new wedding business
run by three handsome brothers. Although Bridie doesn’t really like the idea of
working at ‘weddings’, this job seems to be perfect for her. Soon Bridie finds
herself enjoying her new job, and feeling more and more for one of the handsome
brothers Cody. But soon Bridie’s secret is on the line.
‘Run For
The Hills’ is a sweet and short romantic story. Although the story all goes a
little fast, it was definitely a nice feel-good story. The romance between
Bridie and Cory was nice, a little predictable but non the less very fun. I
loved reading about the life at the big house, where they arranged all these
weddings. And I loved the scene the author set with the guest house and the lake.
The two
main characters Bridie and Cody were definitely nice characters to read about.
Bridie had this big secret, and a very troubling past. I loved how Bridie had
this taste of a famous glamorous life, but felt like she wasn’t herself and
really wanted to be ‘normal’ again. Cody was just very charming. He was a
paparazzi photographer who had to take a break after his previous relationship
didn’t work out and his father died. And Bridie and Cody had this chemistry
from the very beginning.
‘Run For The
Hills’ is a fun read for a sunny day. Nothing to complicated, but really
enjoyable.

About the Author:

Carla
Caruso was born in Adelaide, grew up amid a boisterous extended Italian family
– yet somehow managed to become a bookworm…

Carla always wanted to be a novelist, annoying the kindergarten teachers by
dictating long, detailed stories to them. It just took her a while to realise
her childhood dream – journalism seemed a more practical course. Her media
career has included stints as a newspaper and magazine journalist, government
PR and fashion stylist. These days, she works as a freelance journalist and
copywriter. She began seriously writing fiction three years ago when she went
freelance full-time.

The romance genre appeals as she is a sucker for rom-coms (especially if
Channing Tatum is in the mix) and likes to think her Italian ancestry means she
lives with passion. Hobbies include watching trashy TV shows, fashion (her mum
named her after Carla Zampatti!), astrology and running.
