in January I see a lot of people writing down or talking about New Year’s
Resolutions. Some years I even joined the fun of thinking of and writing down New
Year’s Resolutions. Most times I seem to lose my focus regarding these
resolutions when time passes. But I definitely have a view Favorite New Year’s
Resolutions that worked for me over the years and that I still want to keep for
this year. Maybe it didn’t always work the way I hoped, but thinking about what
I would like to change definitely made me feel better.
more healthy and exercising more regularly’. I love this New Year’s Resolution.
Not only because it’s definitely a good thing to eat more healthy after all
that not-so-healthy-food I ate at Christmas and on New Year’s Eve. But also
because it gets me focused on what’s best for me and my body. And I love
reading tips and tricks about how to get healthier. Trying out new recipes,
seeing what working-out can do for my body. It feels good! And since last year,
when I started eating better and exercising more I’ve been feeling much better
about myself. Not only do I feel healthier, but I also feel more confident. The
last view months I haven’t been to the gym as much as I wanted too, and I’m
hoping to improve that this year and make it more part of my routine. Somehow
having this as a New Year’s Resolution always makes me feel more motivated to make
it work.
one of my favorite New Year’s Resolutions is ‘achieving more reading time’. As
a book blogger that resolution probably sounds a little strange. But I still
think I can have more reading time if I plan my time better. And reading time
is what makes me feel happy, relaxed and centered. Every year I have reading
more, and having more time as one of my New Year’s Resolutions but this year I’m
even more determined to make it work. With a full time job, and planning a
wedding I definitely need to plan my time wisely, and hopefully it will make me
able to read more and achieve my goal of reading 125 books for the Goodreads
Challenge 2017.

I always try to start eating healthier and exercising more at the new year. I'm hoping to stick with it this year!! And I'm with you on the more reading time. 😉
More reading time would definitely be the best right?! And I hope you can stick with it too.. We can support each other 😉
Thanks for joining and linking up Chrissy!!
Wedging in more reading time is always a priority each year. We are looking to improve our health in 2017 as well. Happy New Year!
Happy New Year Kimberly! I figured that I could get more reading time this year if I actually planned it in. I never did before, and I think that's why I sometimes was just too busy to really read as much as I wanted. Hopefully I can change that this year.
Thanks for stopping by!
This year I am trying the one word idea out, and we'll see how that goes. Four days in and I'm not so optimistic. Haha. I've stopped thinking of eating healthier and exercising as New Year's Resolutions and more like mandates I must do after the holidays. I always start off well and then . . . That seems to be the way it is for me and setting goals this time of year. Reading more is always my goal too–sometimes I fair better than others.
Thats probably the thing for many people regarding New Year's Resolutions. Let's hope this year it works better. 😉 I try to think of them more as goals.. sometimes the whole New Year thing doesn't really work.

Yes to more reading time!!! 🙂
well, I guess good luck with eating healthy as well. After all healthy woman, healthy reader, more time and energies to read 😉
Whaha.. Yes that's probably very true. I haven't seen it like that before. 😉

Taking care of your health and fitness is ALWAYS a great resolution 🙂 You only get one body! And eating right and working out can make such a difference in how you feel both mentally and physically. Making more time for reading is great too though, because books! 125 books is great though! Especially since you've had all sorts of other stuff going on last year. You can read too many books though 😛
So true. Working out definitely makes you feel good. It's hard sometimes.. but in the end it's all worth it!
I definitely hope I can get to the 125 books. So far so good! 🙂

Nice! I think you're right about these resolutions, they're both great. Eating right can be hard but it's so worth it. I always feel better when I eat well, and not just physically but in terms of motivation and the sense tht I'm taking care of my body. And yes to reading time! I agree for a lot of us i think it is centering and relaxing. Nice post!
You definitely feel better if you eat well. I definitely don't feel good if I eat junkfood. It's very tasty at the moment.. but when that moment is gone I feel bad and hungry again.

I'm a real fan of setting down very clear targets – I've been doing it in tandom with a writing buddy of mine and I continually check against the list I make in January throughout the year and hold myself accountable at the end of the year. I've found them to really help me strive to continue to do my best and given that a chunk of my time is spent writing at home alone, I need to ensure I continue working hard enough. I like your targets:). So sorry that you have been smitten with the flu and I very much hope you soon feel back to normal – though can I urge you not to try to rush back to work too soon? As an ex-teacher, I know only too well the temptation to go back because you know you are missed, but it generally doesn't end well, particularly at this time of year when our resistance to illness is at its lowest. Hope you feel better soon and many thanks for dropping by, Maureen:)
That's so great. I always forget to check with my list of New Year's Resolutions again. Which really is a shame because in the beginning of the year I work so hard on them.
Resolutions are definitely a great way to make sure you're striving to do the best you can.
Thanks for stopping by! 😉
I think they are both goals. Good luck with them Maureen. I am really working on planning my time better this year, I get distracted too easily with time wasting activities that don't bring me closer to my long term goals.
I so know what your saying with getting distracted. I also easily get distracted! But this year I'm staying strong!! I hope 😀

I wist ik could read and litterly eat books like you do. Maybe a new years resoloutions for me. Make time for reading. But my problem is what do ik like. I like good horror/ thriller movies. Is that the same with books? I know i like books based on True storys. Something ik have to figure out.
I definitely think it's the same with books. If you love watching thrillers and horror movies you should definitely try with one of those genres first. There are some great thrillers out there!
And once you love reading, you really want to make time for it as much as for doing other things. I have probably more reading time than most of the people around me because I have other priorities! And reading is one of those priorities!
