Claudia doesn’t care who Jesus is supposed to be. Her
husband Decius has a job to do-kill him. She helps bathe him when he gets home,
grasping the scroll that carried his orders. When Claudia accidentally swallows
some of the blood of Jesus, Decius suddenly dies.

Centuries later in Philadelphia, Al Campo’s trying to distance himself from
government agencies counting on him to do their dirty work. He unexpectedly
saves Eva, a twelve-year-old girl, when he’s almost shot by an assailant
chasing her down. She can’t explain much about why she’s totally alone, and she
won’t part with her backpack. Al later discovers the scroll she carries as they
visit his sick friend. What he can’t begin to imagine is its immense power.

Only two things are for certain. Whoever’s after her won’t give up, and Al’s
all she has. So it’s a race for survival as he remains her protector. But in
the end, who’s protecting whom?

My Review:

When I first received a request to read ‘The Blood Led
Her’ I knew this book would be different than my ‘normal’ reads. Since I
occasionally love to read books out of my comfort zone, and this one really
looked exciting, I decided to give it a try.
‘The Blood Led Her’ really wasn’t the book for me.
Although I did find the writing captivating enough to keep me interested in the
read.. I just couldn’t really get into the story. The main character Al Campo,
finds himself saving a young twelve year old girl and soon he finds himself in
some unexpected adventures. This was definitely interesting to read. The author
definitely has a way of writing that keeps you hooked. And I never once
expected what would happen next.
But overall this book just wasn’t ‘fun’ for me. I didn’t
really get the whole ‘Jesus’ part and near the end I was completely lost. So I
find it really hard to review this book. Overall I feel like I missed
something, and just couldn’t really connect to this read. This had nothing the
do with the authors writing, since I totally got that the writing was good.
I guess that I just have to conclude, that this book was
good enough.. but not for me. If your into a thrilling and enticing story
that’s doesn’t go the way you think it will.. Than this is a book you have to
check out.
