After reading the first two books in the Wrecked series, and absolutely loving them, I knew I wanted to read this book too. So when I was able to sign up for an ARC, I did immediately. And lucky me.. I got approved and was able to start reading. In ‘Wrecked Palace’ we Caelyn and Griffin’s ...KEEP READING »

Perfect Wreckage (Wrecked, #2)

After reading ‘Reckless Memories’ in May, I knew this was a series I wanted to read every book from. So when I received ‘Perfect Wreckage’, I was super excited I couldn’t wait to start reading. There’s just something about Catherine Cowles writing, that makes me want more and more.

In ‘Perfect Wreckage’ we follow the story of Kenna and Crosby. Kenna has had a hard life from the moment she was born. She learned to have a safe and strict life. She rarely lets loose. But when the woman that took care of Kenna from her early teens suddenly dies, she is devastated and broken. Crosby, the guy she always thought was horrible and self-centered, decides he wants to help Kenna loosen up a little.  Slowly on Kenna and Crosby become closer. But there are some horrible people trying to make Kenna’s life even harder.

Boy did I love this book! From the moment I started reading, I just couldn’t stop. The two main characters Kenna and Crosby where so fun to read about. Kenna was this tough woman, who just wanted to have a safe and normal life. But she rarely was able to let loose and have fun. Crosby had everything growing up, but he didn’t have freedom. So now he lives his life, having fun and letting loose. And all he wants for Kenna is to let loose a little too.

The romance between Kenna and Crosby was just so good. I loved them. Their chemistry was flying of the pages and I just adored them. But the stuff Kenna had to go through was definitely horrible. It made me feel so many emotions. And it definitely made me angry at times too. This definitely proves how good a writer Catherine Cowles really is. This book made me feel a lot and it was just so good.

Kenna and Crosby’s story was such a fun, romantic and sweet one. I loved every page of this book. And I loved how we also get to read little bits about Bell and Ford too, the characters from the first book. There are also some little hints about the third book and I definitely can’t wait to start reading that one too.

Reckless Memories (Wrecked, #1)

Reckless Memories (Wrecked, #1)

After reading two books by Catherine Cowles in the Sutter Lake series, I knew this was an author I would like to read more from. So when I saw the sign up for ‘Reckless Memories’, the first book in a brand new series, I got super excited and signed up as fast as I could. When I received the ARC a little while later I started reading as fast as possible.

In ‘Reckless Memories’ we read the story of Bell and Ford. Bell and Ford grew up together as best friends. Bell was two years younger, but she always loved Ford even when he didn’t love her. When Bell’s life got hard, Ford was always there for her. But one day, a terrible accident happens and Ford disappears from Bell life without saying goodbye. Now, more than a decade later, Ford walks back into her life. But some things can never be forgiven.

I didn’t really know what to expect when I started reading this book, besides that I was probably going to enjoy it. What I definitely didn’t expect was the amount of emotions this book was going to make me feel. I mean.. wow! This story definitely was definitely a roller coaster and I loved every minute of it.

Bell’s and Ford’s story is definitely unique in a very good way. I loved getting to know these two. Growing up as best friends, they definitely had a connection that couldn’t be denied. And Bell has always been in love with Ford. But that wasn’t the case with Ford, and Bell could easily life with that if it meant she had Ford in her life. Unfortunately something happened that changed their life for good, and they lost each other. And I loved reading how they slowly found there way back to each other.

Next to some intense romance, this book also had a little suspense going on. And it definitely kept me sitting on the edge of my seat. I honestly couldn’t put this book down. I did wish for even more moments between Bell and Ford, but that isn’t really a bad thing.

The setting in this book was right up my alley. A small town, great friendships, families.. Catherine really did a great job with this books setting.

What I also really enjoyed in this book, where the little bits we got to read about Bell’s best ‘girlfriends’. I had a feeling those girls needed to have a book of their own. So I’m beyond excited to read the next book is about one those girls at least. And I can’t wait to read it.

Beautifully Broken Control (Sutter Lake, #4)

After reading ‘Beautifully Broken Spirit’ a little while back, I knew I needed to read more books by Catherine Cowles. So when I saw the sign up for the blog tour of ‘Beautifully Broken Control’ I couldn’t sign up fast enough. Although this book is part of a series, it can be read as a standalone.

In ‘Beautifully Broken Control’ we follow the story of Kennedy. We met Kennedy in the previous book, and she was definitely very mysterious. In this book we finally get to read Kennedy story. And what a story it is. Kennedy has had a seemingly perfect past, but a little while back she found out that everything she knew about her life was a lie. Now she is trying to start over, while trying really hard to help others in everyway she can. When she meets the very handsome, and very rich Cain, she wants to hide from him. But there is something between them they both can’t deny. And they slowly grow closer and closer. But Kennedy isn’t the only one with secrets.

When I read about Kennedy in the previous book in this series, I found myself being really curious about this character. There was just something about her I liked from the beginning. And I loved reading this book through her eyes. Kennedy is a really good person. And she has been trying to hide from her past. Working hard, doing a lot of volunteering, and not taking stuff she doesn’t really need. Like for example a car. Luxury is something she simple doesn’t want. And I loved her for that. Reading about her character made me feel really inspired. She has this jar with things she’s grateful for, and she adds a little paper to the jar almost every day. I love that!!

Cain’s character was just like Kennedy’s character, very mysterious. And I had so many questions about him. He was hardworking, handsome, rich and found life on his own the best. When he met Kennedy he felt this attraction to her almost immediately. And I found his character to be really fun to read about. Yes, he got a little out of control at times with wanting to take care of Kennedy. But I just really liked him.

The romance between Kennedy and Cain was definitely great to read about too. Their chemistry was definitely palpable, but most of all the way they started as ‘friends’ was really good. And I simple loved them.

Just as in the previous book this story takes place in the little town of Sutter Lake, and I loved that setting. There just something very charming about that town.

Yes, this book was definitely another great one. And I’m even more determined to read the first two books in this series I haven’t yet read. If you’re looking for a fun romantic small town romance novel, with some suspense, this book is definitely for you.

Beautifully Broken Spirit (Sutter Lake, #3)

When I read the book description of ‘Beautifully Broken Spirit’, I just knew this was a book I needed to read. And when I found out this book was part of a series, but could be read as a standalone, I was hooked. So when I received this book, I felt super lucky and started reading as soon as possible.

In ‘Beautifully Broken Spirit’ we meet single mom Jensen. After two horrible relationships, she is determined to make it on her own and do the best for her son. Jensen works hard in her own little shop, takes care of her horses, and tries to be the best mom. Tuck is Jensen’s brothers best friend and he has always been a part of Jensen’s life. Tuck is just like another brother.. except he is definitely not. When things in Jensen’s life starts getting dangerous, Tuck is determined to keep Jensen safe. As her friend obviously.

In the beginning I needed a little time to really connect with the two main characters Jensen and Tuck. Not in a bad way. I just felt like there was this whole life I didn’t knew. But I kept going and soon I started to love Jensen and Tuck.

Jensen is this hard working mom who hardly ever gives herself time to take a breath. She works like crazy, takes care of these beautiful Mustangs who needed a safe place and is a single mom. And as a mom myself, I think she kind of is amazing!! The chemistry between Jensen and Tuck was immediately super fun to read about. Even if though they didn’t really recognize that chemistry themselves.

Tuck was just perfect. He was handsome, strong, kind and he took care of Jensen and her son even if she didn’t want it all the time. Tuck had his own demons, but Jensen always came first. I just loved him. And I was rooting for him from the very start.

Next to some awesome romance, there was some pretty exciting suspense going on in this book. And it kept me guessing and sitting on the edge of my seat. I loved it!

‘Beautifully Broken Spirit’ is a great read and I definitely need to read the other books in this series too. Catherine Cowles definitely has a new fan.
