Chasing The Sun (Angel Sands #7)

I’ve been reading the Angel Sands series since the first book came out in 2019, and I’ve loved every single one of these books. So when I read the 7th book ‘Chasing The Sun’ was coming out I got super excited. And I was lucky enough to be able to read an ARC. Every book in this series is a standalone.

In ‘Chasing The Sun’ we meet Jackson Lewis. Jackson is known as being a workaholic playboy. Not that he treats woman badly, not at all.. but he is supposed to have a lot of flings. Well.. let people think that. The truth is Jackson, is just a workaholic working 80 hours a week. He can definitely use a break, and when his best friend asks him to pick up his sister in law from the airport he does it thinking this will give him a little break before he can get back to work. But Lydia Paxton is the most beautiful, fun and exciting woman he has seen in a long time. And its very hard to stay away from her, even if she is only here for two weeks.

The fun thing about this series, is the fact we get to read a little bit about future and past characters from the series. Without it feeling like you need to have read the previous books. But I definitely love the fact I know all these characters. And throughout the previous books I read a little about Jackson and Lydia. And I was really looking forward to reading their story. And I was not disappointed.

From the very first page I definitely loved this book. Jackson and Lydia are really fun to get to know. They seem to be complete opposites, but from the start there is this chemistry between them that is flying off the pages. Jackson has been hurt in the past, and has build this ‘safe’ life for himself. But Lydia makes him want to be different. Lydia is this free, fun and kind of intense girl who loves to travel and has made her career out of her hobby. And from the moment she sees Jackson, she starts doubting her way of life.

I loved the connection between Jackson and Lydia. They where so good together, and I loved how they both got better for being in each other’s life. They only have these two weeks together and they have to make every minute count. And they sure do.

I love the setting of Angel Sands. There’s just something about this charming sunny town that makes me want to keep on reading. And these books seem to get sexier and more fun every book I read.

‘Chasing The Sun’ was a very fun, romantic and sexy read I’d definitely recommend.

A Better Man (The Heartbreak Brothers Book 3)

When I read about this third book in the Heartbreak Brothers series, I knew this was a book I wanted to read. I’ve loved the previous two books in the series, and I just loved the things I read about Logan Hartson in the previous books.  So when I received the ARC, I couldn’t wait to start reading.

In ‘A Better Man’ we meet Logan and Courtney. Logan is big in the restaurant business and he is in the middle of opening his 5th restaurant in the big city. He is a total workaholic and rarely spends time in his little hometown. But when he accidentally bumps into Courtney when he is visiting his hometown one day, his old hometown doesn’t sounds so bad anymore.

Courtney is a widow, and lives on a farm. Her life is totally different from Logan’s life. But when Logan and Courtney meet things change for the both of them. And although a relationship seems impossible for them, their attraction can’t be denied. And soon their lives are going to change even more.

From the moment I started reading I loved the story of Logan and Courtney. They both weren’t looking for a relationship, and they didn’t expect to feel the things they did. But their connection and attraction was so intense they soon both found themselves wanting to be together more and more. But both of them had a past that made it hard for them to open up. And I just loved reading about these moments between these two. Logan and Courtney are both very fun and kind characters, an although their lives are totally different, they just fitted together.

The one character I really disliked was Courtney’s brother in law Carl. What a horrible guy. I really didn’t like him and I thought Courtney was way too nice to him. In the beginning he just really had this vibe about him that made me want to hit something. Blegh.. what a creepy guy.

Throughout this book we also read a little more about Logan’s twin brother Cam, and I’m so excited to read more about him. I’ve never really read a lot about twins before. But I think the connection between twins is just super magical, and I can’t wait to read more.

The romance between Logan and Courtney was definitely intense. There was some huge chemistry between them, and their where plenty of sexy scenes that made this book a total page turner.

‘A Better Man’ was definitely another great book in the series. And I couldn’t have loved it more.

Still The One: A Small Town Friends to Lovers Romance (The Heartbreak Brothers Book 2)

Still The One: A Small Town Friends to Lovers Romance (The Heartbreak Brothers Book 2)

I’ve been a fan of Carrie Elks’s books for a while now. And when I read her first book in the Heartbreak brothers series a view months back, I knew this was a series I’d have to continue to read. I always had this thing for small towns, and after getting to know the Hartson brothers in ‘Take Me Home’, I couldn’t wait to get my hands on the next book.

In ‘Still The One’ we meet Tanner Hartson. Tanner moves back home after being away for more than ten years. He has sold his company, and just isn’t sure what to do with his life now. What he didn’t expect was Savannah Butler moving back around the same time too. Savannah, was Tanner’s best friend from the moment they met when they where six years old. Everyone new Savannah and Tanner where as close as two people could get growing up. But ten years ago Tanner broke Savannah’s heart and they’ve never spoken again.

I was super excited to start reading ‘Still The One’, and when I did I just couldn’t put it down. I loved getting to know the story of Tanner and Savannah. I just thought it was so sweet how Tanner and Savannah met and got to know each other all those years ago. Their friendship was definitely intense and I can imagine how much Savannah loved becoming a part of the Hartson’s family.

The chemistry between Tanner and Savannah was definitely exciting to read. I just loved them right from the very first page and I couldn’t wait to know what happened all those years ago. And boy was Tanner an ass back then. Sure he was young and confused.. but what he did was horrible. And I definitely thought he deserved to feel bad about it.

The best part about this book was how Tanner and Savannah slowly reconnected. I just couldn’t imagine these two characters without one another.

Savannah’s character was my favorite though. She was so tough and caring. I loved how she took care of her family. Even though I wished someone would have taken care of her too. And her mom.. well.. she was a hard character to read about. I wanted to slap her several times.

‘Still The One’ was another great read! And it definitely made me excited to read the next book in the series. I’m just so excited to learn more about the Hartson brothers.

Pieces of Us (Angel Sands Book 6)

Ever since I first read about Griffin in one of the other books in the Angel Sands series, I knew his story was one I would love. There was just something about the handsome, aquaman like, commitment- scared good guy that really me wonder about his story. And luckily for me, I loved the story of Griffin and Autumn right from the start.

Griffin has had a hard time growing up. Being a kid, and having parents that seem to care about anything but themselves? I can’t even imagine. And luckily his past didn’t make Griff a hard or unkind person. The only thing is that he doesn’t believe in love. But who would after the childhood he had? But from the moment he saw New Yorker Autumn on the Pier in the Angel Sands, he was mesmerized by her beauty and kindness.

Autumn is used to hard working and pleasing everyone around her. There is rarely time for her to do more than working and pleasing others. But when her loveless marriage ends in disaster she finds herself buying a Pier and moving to Angel Sands. At least for a little while. Autumn’s life has always been fast paced and busy. And being in Angel Sands and meeting some of the people who life there, she realizes there is much more to life. And when she meets the handsome Griffin, she is instantly attracted to him. But they come from totally different world, and there are many reasons why they shouldn’t work.

Carrie Elks definitely did it again. I loved ‘Pieces of Me’. From the moment I started reading I loved the two main characters Griffin and Autumn. They have this connection right from the start, and I really loved them. They start out as friends, and soon find themselves feeling more and more for each other. And I really enjoyed getting to know them.

Just as in the previous books in this series, characters from the previous books in this series make their appearance. And I loved that! You really don’t have to read any of the other books in this series, to understand this book.. but the fact that I know the stories of these characters is just so fun.

I loved the setting of the small town Angel Sands, and I really can’t get enough of it. So I was super excited to read there will be another book in the series about Lydia, Autumn’s little sister and Jackson, Griffin’s friend. I can’t wait to read that book too.

If you’re looking for a fun, romantic, small town, perfect summer time read.. ‘Pieces of Me’ is perfect for you.
