After reading the first book in the Tin Gypsy series for our Book Club read of October, I knew I wanted to read more books in this series. I really loved ‘Gypsy King’, so I just couldn’t wait to read the second book.
In ‘Riven Knight’ we follow the story of Genevieve and Isaiah. After losing her mother, and being kidnapped alongside Bryce, the female main character of ‘Gypsy King’, Genevieve finds herself entangled with the former motorcycle gang. Not to forget, her connection with Isaiah, the guy that saved her life and who she needs to safe now in return. That’s why, although her life is a complete mess.. Genevieve finds herself moving to Clifton Forge and marrying the handsome stranger Isaiah. But after realizing her mother kept a lot of secrets, and her kidnapper still on the loose, Genevieve soon realizes she is still not safe. And her heart is definitely not safe from the guy she now calls her husband.
The first book in the series, Gypsy King, left me wanting to know more about those motorcycle guys. And the mysterious Isaiah was definitely one that grabbed my attention the first. So I couldn’t wait to learn more about his story, and right from the very first page I was hooked.
The romance between Genevieve and Isaiah was definitely a slow burn one, and it worked perfectly for these two characters. The chemistry between them, is there from the start though and it definitely made me swoon. Although I loved both main characters, Isaiah was my favorite. His life took a horrible turn a few years back, and he has been paying for his mistake everyday since. I loved how Genevieve ‘saved’ him from the moment she came into his life. And I loved how we slowly learned more and more about his ‘secrets’.
Next to a great romance, this book also definitely had some suspense in it too. And I loved the combination in this book. It kept me swooning, and sitting on the edge of my seat at the same time. And I really enjoyed how we also read a little more about the other people in the ‘gang’. It definitely made me wonder what there story would be like.
The only thing I didn’t really get was the reason for their marrying. But it didn’t bother me to much.
Although this book is another standalone, I’d definitely would recommend reading the first book first. I really loved knowing some of the characters already. And it made me follow this story very easily. And I’ll definitely be reading more books in this series.
