A little while ago I read my first Donna Grant book, ‘Cowboy, Cross My Heart’ the second book in the Heart of Texas series. I definitely enjoyed that book, I had some issues with it too. But when I received an email with the question if I wanted to read ‘My Favorite Cowboy’, the third book in the Heart of Texas series I needed no time to think and accepted the request immediately. Although ‘My Favorite Cowboy’ is the third book in the Heart of Texas series, it can be read as a standalone. I only read the second book in the series, and I could follow this book easily.

I enjoyed the second book in this series, but this third book I loved. From the moment I started reading I just completely loved Caleb and Audrey. Audrey is this hardworking woman who made a great life for herself. She studied hard and worked hard to become the best. And she lives for her work. I really liked Audrey’s character right from the beginning. She is tough, and passionate about what she does. She was definitely easy to like. And Caleb… Handsome, hardworking and he would do anything for the people he loves. Yes, I definitely loved him too.

The romance in this book was great. A little predictable, yes. But also just butterflies in your stomach good. I loved how Caleb and Audrey struggled with their instant intense attraction to one another. They where just so good together. But they both had a lot of insecurities and issues to get through. It was definitely to read about these too.

The suspense in this book was also pretty good. It kept me hooked and wanting to keep on reading. Someone was hurting these horses, and Audrey was determined to find out who and what they where hurting these horses with. It definitely kept me sitting on the edge of my seat. Just as with the previous book, I found the suspense part of this book coming to a bit of an abrupt end.. But it sure was good.

‘My Favorite Cowboy’ was definitely a great read. I just loved it from the beginning till the end.
