Nov
Especially this time of year, early November and with
December just around the corner, life can be really busy. Not only because of
the holidays coming closer, but also because it’s getting darker like really
early, which always makes me think I have less time for stuff. This is not necessarily
true of course.. but still. So when I’m getting a little stressed about life
and all the things I have to do I try to think of something positive and the
things that make me happy. So today I’m sharing Five Things That Make Me Happy
with you. I have many more things that make me happy of course.. but hey I can’t
possible write them all down. 😉
1. Home
almost six and a half years now. We’re the staying-at-home-and-loving-it type
of people. I honestly can say that I wouldn’t mind spending entire days just
inside with Tom and our cat and agapornis (also known as Lovebird). When I feel
sad or down I look around our home and always feel better.
2. Books
Well this is a little predictable since this is a book
blog, but books really make me happy. Not just a little happy, but extremely
and ecstatically happy. I always feel better with a book in my hand.
3. Candlelight
Candlelight just makes everything look better and cozier and it just literally
lightens up a room. And although you can light a candle in the summer, I always
love how a candle looks in the winter time. Cold evenings surrounded with
candles. Yep, I love it.
4. Snow
Although I really enjoy summertime I really am a snow
kind of girl. Spending a lot of time in Switzerland when I was younger really
made me love snow even more. Everything just looks magical surrounded with
snow. And when everyone is grumbling about snow getting in the way of their
journey to work, I happily wake up a little earlier to drive slowly to work. I
wish there was a lot more snow her in the Netherlands. Especially during Christmas time.
5. Cooking
I really love to cook. Especially when I’m free from work
I love to make something special from a recipe. It doesn’t always have to be
something huge or with different courses but just something I haven’t made
before. Cooking always makes me feel happy and it gets even better when my man
likes it.

Thank you Nikita. I'm glad sharing this makes other people happy too. 🙂
Five things that make me happy: my family, the sun, the sea, good books, my bed. If I could move my bed (or a version of it) to the seaside, with a stack of books, perpetual sunshine & my family playing quietly around me!
LOL!! That sounds perfect! And it definitely sounds like something that can be arranged. 😉
that's an awesome list, I never really thought about it humm.. family.. books.. warm baths to relax in, chocolate, coffee.
Sounds like a great list Lily! Chocolate should be on everybody's list. 😉
All of those except the cooking! That is a chore for me. I'm addicted to candles and always have at least one burning, they are a huge part of the relaxation process for me. I like snow but we never really get much here. Love your photos, your cat is a cutie and it's nice to see what you look like too! Those skiing pics make me jealous, wish I could ski!
Candles really are relaxing and they also have this amazing romantic feel to them. I love lighting candles at night, they just make a night even more special.
I haven't been skiing for a while now.. Maybe one day a year.. but it's so much fun! I love it and when I can do it I spend all day skiing.. I don't want to stop and I always feel sore the next day because I overdid it! LOL!!
