The Things We Leave Unfinished

The other day I was having a moment. I was starting a new ARC, and although the start wasn’t bad at all, I just couldn’t really get into it. So I ended up on my Amazon app and saw the cover of ‘The Things We Leave Unfinished’. This book got some raving reviews, and I ...KEEP READING »

Matched (Navy Seals of Little Creek #2)

A view months back I read ‘Issued’, the first book in the Navy Seals of Little Creek series. I definitely enjoyed that book so when I got the opportunity to read the next book in the series I just couldn’t resist.

In ‘Matched’ we meet Navy SEAL Anthony Martinez a.k.a. Tony. Tony is known for his flirting with many woman, and his goofy ways. Tony is definitely not one you would call serious. So when Inara Ramirez decides to sign up for the military’s spouse matching program, the guy she would have thought to be signed up with was definitely not Tony. But they sure are chosen to get married. All Inara wants is to find love, and she isn’t doing a good job at it herself, so this ‘chosen’ marriage is something she really wants to work out. But Tony has only planned to be married a year, just so his boss can see he can stick to something and be ‘serious’.

When I first started reading about Inara and Tony I just couldn’t place these two characters together. Tony just seemed to be this shallow, womanizing guy and Inara really wanted to find herself someone to start a family with. They just didn’t seem to match at all, and I had some trouble really getting into their story. Especially as things start only minutes before they got ‘married’.

But fortunately we slowly get to learn more about Tony, right alongside Inara. And we soon get to see there is so much more to his character than he lets people see. And I began to love him. I loved how shy and even insecure he got about Inara, when he realized how much he really liked her. It was just so cute.

Inara’s character was feisty and I enjoyed reading about her. She was tough as nails and just didn’t want to have another relationship fail again. So she did something not many other woman would do. She decided to forget her own choices in love, and to go with a scientific program that choose the perfect guy for her. And I loved how strong she stayed even when she saw who the program picked for her.

‘Matched’ was definitely an enjoyable read. What I did miss where the ‘suspense’ moments the first book did have. And at times things did feel a little rushed and sudden. But overall this was a fun read.

Issued (Navy Seals of Little Creek, #1)

Issued (Navy Seals of Little Creek, #1)

I remember reading the book description of ‘Issued’ a view months back and I immediately wanted to start reading this one. I just loved the sound of this military romance and was super excited when I could finally dive in. Navy seals just have a charming thing about them right?

‘Issued’ was definitely an easy to read romance novel that hooked me right from the start. We meet the characters when they both have been through something traumatic, and now they are entering an arranged marriage. And all for the better good? Jim, definitely doesn’t agree and I enjoyed reading how he juggled with his own problems, the fact that there is a strange beautiful woman living in his home and his feelings of being married again. Taya was the complete opposite of Jim. She thought this marriage might be a great opportunity to get a new life. And she likes Jim almost right from the start.

This book is written through both Jim and Taya’s point of view and I definitely loved that. It was so fun reading this book through both their eyes. And the chemistry between them was definitely exciting to read. I loved how they slowly became closer and closer. And they really went through this journey together.

I loved the fact that Jim and Taya both had their own stories to tell. Throughout this book we get to know their stories better and we get to see how these two try to work things out. This isn’t as easy as it sounds when both their pasts are coming back to haunt them. And I enjoyed those little suspense moments when their pasts come knocking.

The sex scenes in this book didn’t really work for me though. I just didn’t really feel those. But luckily for me I loved the characters so much it didn’t bother me as much.

‘Issued’ was definitely a fun romantic read I enjoyed from start to finish. And I definitely can’t wait to read more books in this series.
