After reading my first S. Jones book ‘Whatever It Takes’ in January of last year, I knew I wanted to read more books by this author. So when I saw the sign up for ‘Whatever You Need’ I knew I wanted to read this one. And I was lucky enough to receive an ARC. In ‘Whatever ...KEEP READING »

Whatever It Takes

I came across S. Jones on this Facebook event in December. When I read about her books I found myself really wanting to read her books. So when I joined her Facebook group and saw a post about an opportunity to read an ARC of her new book ‘Whatever It Takes’ I definitely needed to respond a.s.a.p. So when I received the ARC shortly after, I couldn’t be more excited so I started reading immediately.

In ‘Whatever It Takes’ we meet Charlotte shortly after her life got horrible wrong. Charlotte’s husband wasn’t who he said he was and is now on the run for the cops after he did something terrible. Now all Charlotte can do it to stay strong for her daughter, and try to move on from everything that went wrong. But when her ex-fiancé, the guy who broke her heart, turns up as a cop investigating her husbands crimes, Charlotte feels even more conflicted. And when Quinn decides he wants to make up for his mistakes, Charlotte isn’t sure what to feel anymore.

‘Whatever It Takes’ was definitely a rollercoaster from start till finish. Charlotte’s life is turned upside down, an I was feeling terrible for her. I mean.. Wow!! No one should have to go through what she is going through in such a short period of time. But Charlotte is a tough woman, and I simple loved her. Charlotte is above everything a mom, and I couldn’t love her more. She stays strong for her little girl and I truly admired her strength.

But really.. Quinn? How can anyone deny such a guy? I mean Quinn, was handsome, a cop, kind of a cave man but who doesn’t secretly love that, and he really took ownership of his mistakes. Yes, I loved Quinn and I totally get why Charlotte couldn’t deny him. Sure Quinn had his bad sides. I for one still don’t really get why he broke of the engagement all those years ago, and he was terrible selfish at times.. but there was just something about the guy I enjoyed.

I did think certain parts of this book went way to fast, but I loved the characters and their romance so much I can easily forget about it. And that epilogue didn’t really work for me.. But overall I loved this book and will definitely be reading more by this author.
