After reading the first two books in the Moving Violations series, I was definitely curious about this third book. These first two books left me with mixed feelings, but how can I deny a Cowboy story?! In ‘Her Renegade Cowboy’ we meet Lily Donovan. Strong, Silent Cowboy (Moving Violations #2)

I love a good Cowboy story. And after reading the first book in this standalone series ‘One Tough Cowboy’ in 2019, I knew I wanted to read more. So I was excited to receive an ARC for this book and started reading.

In ‘Strong, Silent Cowboy’ we meet Sallie Hamblen and Jacob Donovan. Years ago Sallie and Jacob spend a hot weekend together in a hotel in Switzerland. Sallie thought they loved each other and that there would be many other moments together. But Jacob disappeared and left her without word. Now years later, Sallie and Jacob meet again but Jacob doesn’t remember Sallie and Sallie is determined to forget it all too. But she can’t seem to leave him, and soon Sallie find herself in danger and Jacob might be the only one who can keep her safe.

To be honest, this book wasn’t for me. Right from the start I found it confusing what was happening between Sallie and Jacob and what was when. Apparently we first read a little part about 6 years ago, than 3 years ago and shortly after from the present. Maybe it was just the ARC format, but this definitely wasn’t clear to me and if confused me.

Although there definitely was chemistry between Sallie and Jacob, I found this book had way to much sex in it. There was a lot of sex, and not a lot of character development. I just couldn’t really feel the connection between Sallie and Jacob until probably the end of the book. Which was disappointing and didn’t make this a pleasant read for me.

What I also didn’t really get was the suspense part of this book. Sallie has been on the run for years, but now she stayed put for the last three and her stepfather still knew where she was and got her a job. Well.. I guess this book just left me with to much questions and to little answers.
