Cold Hearted Bastard (Bastard Series, #1)

When I read about ‘Cold Hearted Bastard’ through Caffeinated PR, I just knew this was a book I wanted to read. The main character Jackson McKay sounded like an interesting character, and I was excited to learn more about him. So when I got this book to review, I was over the moon and couldn’t wait to start reading.

And this book didn’t disappoint me at all. When I started reading it took me a little while to get into the story. Although the two main characters Jackson and Gwen where definitely fun to get to know. I found there was to much ‘sex’ way to fast. And this made me afraid I wouldn’t like this book all that much. But right at the moment I thought: ‘This is too much’, the characters and their story grew on me and I started to love them.

Jackson’s character was definitely my favorite. Yes, I liked the womanizer. Just because there was so much more about his character than you’d first expect. And he was always honest to every woman he hooked up with. I enjoyed that about him.

The chemistry between Jackson and Gwen was amazing and I loved reading about them. Yes, I could have gone with less ‘sex’, but it fitted their characters and it fitted their relationship. What I enjoyed was the fact that they where both chefs. I just love cooking and this felt a little like my two worlds colliding.

Gwen’s character was also a fun one. She was tough, determined and funny. And I loved how she knew she was beautiful, but wasn’t arrogant about it.

‘Cold Hearted Bastard’ is definitely a story that keeps getting better and better the further you go and I simply loved it. And above all this book made me want to read more books by Jennifer Dawson.
