So when I got the opportunity to read ‘Getting Off Easy’, the fourth book in the Boys of the Big Easy series, I got super excited and started ...KEEP READING »

Crazy Rich Cajuns (Boys of the Bayou, #4)

A view weeks ago I read my first book in the Boys of the Bayou series, and I really loved that one. So I was super excited to find out their where more books coming in this series soon. And after reading, Sweet Home Louisiana and Beauty and the Bayou, I couldn’t wait to read Kennedy and Bennett’s story.

In ‘Crazy Rich Cajuns’ we meet Kennedy and Bennett. This is a couple we’ve been reading about a little in the previous books, and I just loved their chemistry. So this book about their story was high on my list of books I wanted to read. Kennedy and Bennett have been fight-flirting for a while now, and Bennett has had enough. He want’s to get to know Kennedy better and he wants to be with her. So he decides to invite her for a trip to his family. But Kennedy isn’t like most girls. She knows what she wants, drinks like a sailor and isn’t afraid to get her hands dirty. And she sure as hell doesn’t want to admit she wants Bennett.

‘Crazy Rich Cajuns’ was a book I was really looking forward to. I loved their characters in the previous books and their chemistry was just flying of the pages. And luckily for me I definitely enjoyed this book. The chemistry between Kennedy and Bennett really was fun to read about. And I loved getting to know them better.

The one thing I didn’t really like was the fact that I found this story going way to fast. It seemed like I had been reading  about Kennedy and Bennett’s flirting for a long time and in this book they gave in to their feelings pretty fast. It just almost felt too fast, since they had been denying having feelings for each other before.

But overall I really enjoyed this book and it made for a fun read. And although ‘Crazy Rich Cajuns’ is part of a series, it can be read as a standalone.

Beauty and the Bayou (Boys of the Bayou, #3)

Beauty and the Bayou (Boys of the Bayou, #3)

A view weeks ago I read the second book in the Boys of the Bayou series, ‘Sweet Home Louisiana’, and completely loved that book. So when I got the opportunity to read the third book in the series ‘Beauty and the Bayou’ I definitely couldn’t say no. And as fast as I could I started reading.

In the ‘Beauty and the Bayou’ we meet Sawyer Landry. Ever since Sawyer lost his best friend a view months back he hasn’t been easy to be around. When the beautiful Juliet Dawson comes to the Bayou to help repair the boat dock her brother, Sawyer instantly feels an attraction to the clumsy lawyer and he finds himself wanting to be kind to the beautiful woman. Soon Sawyer and Juliet spend more and more time together and even though Juliet definitely isn’t the right person for life in the Bayou, Sawyer might be perfect for her.

‘Beauty and the Bayou’  was definitely a book I couldn’t put down. It was easy to read, the characters where easy to like, the setting was great and the romance was good. I definitely enjoyed every single page of this book.

The romance between Sawyer and Juliet was really fun to read and definitely had some hot moments. But I did find their romance was a bit sudden. I would have preferred there to be a little more built up to the romance. Now I just felt like they almost instantly loved each other, and although I definitely don’t hate ‘insta-love’ this just felt a little off to me. But luckily for me it didn’t bother me to much.

The character I loved the most in this book was Juliet. I just loved her spirit and her determination to do things herself. And the way she acted for the people she loved. Juliet is definitely a tough kick-ass woman.

The setting of this book was, just as in the previous book, very fun to read. I loved reading about the Bayou and the big loving Landry family. I also loved the fact we get to read a little bit about the characters of the previous books in this series. There is just something about this setting and it’s characters that I can easily imagine to be real. And it makes me want to try crawfish! LOL!!

Yes, ‘Beauty and the Bayou’ was definitely a fun read. And I loved that we got some little previews of the next book in the series. I for one can’t wait to read that one too!

Sweet Home Louisiana (Boys of the Bayou, #2)

When I read the book description of ‘Sweet Home Louisiana’ I knew this was a book I wanted to read. I’ve never read an Erin Nicholas book before, but this one just sounded amazing. And when I got approved for a review copy I was so excited and started reading as soon as possible.

In ‘Sweet Home Louisiana’ we meet Maddie. Maddie is forced to go back to the town she grew up in after leaving it twelve years ago. There is a lot of unresolved history in the little Louisiana town, and Maddie is determined to leave again soon. But to be able to sell her part of the family business that keeps her tied there, she has to go back for thirty days. Thirty days back to the small town forces her to come eye to eye with Owen Landry, the guy who stole her heart all those years ago. And all she wants is to flee again as fast as possible.

From the moment I started reading ‘Sweet Home Louisiana’ I was hooked. I just loved everything about this read. The two main characters Maddie and Owen were such fun characters to get to know. Maddie is not the southern girl she was growing up, and she tries everything she can to prove that she doesn’t belong in the small Louisiana town anymore. But Owen is determined to make Maddie see what she is missing out on. And those moments between them are just so fun and charming. The chemistry between Maddie and Owen is flying of the pages, and I just couldn’t read fast enough. This book made me smile several times, and I couldn’t stop reading!

I also loved the scenery in this book. I love reading about small towns, and there was just something about this little town that really charmed me. I can’t say I would enjoy visiting myself, since it apparently is very hot there and there are lots of alligators. But it sure does sound charming.

‘Sweet Home Louisiana’ has a ‘Sweet Home Alabama’ (the movie with Reese Witherspoon) kind of feel about it. And since that is one of my favorite movies, this book just couldn’t go bad for me. Although this is the second book in the Boys of the Bayou series, it can be read as a standalone. But let me tell you.. When you start this book, you want to read all the books in the series! There are many side characters in this book that makes me want to read more about their story. My TBR list got a lot longer for sure.
