Wild Spirit (Soul Sister, #3)

After reading the first two books in the Soul Sister series, I knew I wanted to read the other books in this series too. Through reading the first two books, we already met Liliana and Omar and I must admit that I was super excited to read their story. Who doesn’t love a bodyguard romance ...KEEP READING »

Wild Beauty (Soul Sister, #2)

Wild Beauty (Soul Sister, #2)

After reading ‘Wild Child’, the first book in the Soul Sister series I knew I wanted to read more books in this series. The Soul Sister series is a series about the Kerrighan sisters and their sisterhood. All foster sisters, who have had a horrible start in life.. but found love and family together. Such a great concept in my opinion and after enjoying the first book I was super excited to read the second story.

‘Wild Beauty’ is the story of Addison, a very successful model. Addy was kidnapped a few months back by a serial killer who tortured her for days. Now her abductor is dead, and Addy is supposed to get back to her life. But you can imagine this isn’t as easy as it sounds. Addy is determined to get back to work though. And on her first job back she meets photographer Killian. Killian has also been through a lot, and they soon find there is a undeniable attraction between them. And this attraction is definitely something you can feel flying of the pages.

From the moment Addy and Killian meet, you can feel their chemistry. And I loved their story and how they found kinship in each other. Just as in the first book, this is a very ‘sudden’ romance. Addy and Killian meet and soon after Killian is declaring Addy as ‘his woman’. A few days later they are talking about being together forever. And although I enjoyed their romance, I really wished it didn’t  happen overnight. It just felt a little rushed to be honest. And I think this book would be even better if there just was a bit more time between them meeting, and them declaring their love for one another.

Next to this book being a romance, there is definitely a suspense element in this book. Addy finds herself in danger again, as do her sisters. And I found myself hooked to the pages, eager to find out what was going to happen next. ‘Wild Beauty’ definitely made me want to keep on reading.

As I wrote before, I love that this book is part of a series about all the Kerrighan sisters. And although this book is Addy’s story, we do get to read a little about her sisters and their possible love interests. This definitely made me want to read the next book too, but it also kind of took the surprise out of the next book. We already read a bit about the meeting between the next Kerrighan sister and her love interest. But who knows, maybe I will be surprised in the next book.

Overall ‘Wild Beauty’ is a fun story with a nice romance and some interesting suspense. Although this book continues where the first book ended, you can read this as a standalone novel. But to get the complete experience I definitely would recommend reading the first book first.

Wild Child

After reading the book description of ‘Wild Child’, I knew this was a book I wanted to read. I hadn’t read a book by Audrey Carlan before, but I read some good stuff about her on other blogs. And I also just loved that cover.

In ‘Wild Child’ we meet Simone. Simone grew up in Kerrighan House, a loving home filled with foster girls. They all have a different story, but they all ended up together and with an unbreakable bond. They really are chosen sisters. Simone has always been the ‘wild’ one. No matter what happens she wants to make the best of every day and she wants to make her own money. So that’s why she is working three jobs, while doing part time college. But one unfortunate evening, she loses one job and gets pulled over by FBI agent Jonah Fontaine. But although this is a horrible day for her.. Jonah saves her life that day, and soon they both realize Simone might also have saved his life.

This book was definitely very different than what I expected it to be. And not in a bad way. I thought this was ‘just’ a romance. But it also had a few suspense moments that made this read very fascinating. But what I loved the most about this story was the whole foster sister bond between Simone and her sisters. Your imagination definitely gets going while reading about all these different sisters, and I hope I get to read the other books in this series too.

Simone and Jonah, where the two main characters and I loved them. Yes, their romance was rather sudden and I would have enjoyed it going a little slower.. but their chemistry and their story made up for that. They are definitely opposites in many ways, but they really worked well together. I loved how honest and ‘wild’ Simone was. And Jonah’s serious side just was the perfect fit for her.

The suspense in this book kept me sitting on the edge of my seat. There is a murderer on the loose, and Simone and Jonah find themselves right in the middle of the murderer’s path. I just couldn’t put this book down after I started it. And it was definitely teeth-biting suspenseful at times.

‘Wild Child’ was a very fun, romantic and suspense filled read that kept me hooked from start to finish. It definitely made me want to read more about the Kerrighan sisters and their sisterhood.
