This week has just flown by and I honestly don’t even really know why or what I all did. I just know that I had very little time this week to do anything else than take care of my kids, work and sleep. I honestly don’t even got around to visiting all of you guys! I’ll do better this week!
We had a memorial evening in a church here in the city this week, where they called my dad’s name and my mom and I lighted a candle for him. It was beautiful, and very emotional. I can’t believe it has been 8 weeks since he passed away. I still think about that morning every single day! I’m not religious, and these last few weeks I sure wished I did. I think it would have made it a little bit more bearable to believe I would see him again one day.
On Saturday my husband and I took our kids to the city to get some new clothes. They both have been growing so hard, we desperately needed some new stuff. And we definitely got some great new clothes and shoes.
On Friday this years #HOHOHORAT 2022 started and I’m so excited to get into the Christmas spirit! I’m one of the Elf’s again this year and I’m just really excited.
And look at this amazing gift my husband got me.. A Harry Potter Advent Calendar! I’m so excited!

That calendar does look like fun. Enjoy it!
Thank you.
The advent calendar looks like fun, lucky you 🙂 I don’t collect anything, except books 🙂
Wishing you a great reading week
Thanks, I’m really excited! And books are the best thing to collect 😉
Looks like some fun holiday reading ahead. Also, no collections any more….no space and, been there, done that. 🙂 Have a Happy Thanksgiving.

Thank you Terrie. Happy thanksgiving to you as well 😉
A great calendar! The books look good too.
Time goes so fast. My gran died last December and my Granddad died this May. It just seems so crazy that we are nearly at December and Christmas ❤️ sending love.

It sure goes by really fast. It feels like it was just summer.
Have a great week and happy reading.
Very touching the church did a memorial service including your dad’s. Oooh, fun advent calendar. I’m enjoying HoHoHoRAT, too.
Have a good week, Maureen!
Thank you Sophia. And it sure was touching!
It’s been around 10 weeks since my sister died, too, so your dad must’ve died around Sept 8th? My sister died the same day as the Queen. I hope she got to meet her! Oh wait, you said 8 weeks for your dad. Never mind!
That’s very cool that you got to light a candle for your dad. I’m not religious either but I have to believe I will be with my loved ones again some day. Maybe not the way I imagine it, but some way.
That Harry Potter Advent Calendar is so cool! Is it the one where you get little figurines?
Hang in there!!! Sending a hug.
I’m sorry to read about your loss as well Jinjer. My dad died on September 20th. The day after the Queens funeral!
This Advent Calendar has the little POP figurines. I can’t wait to start opening them on December 1st.
Happy reading.
I’m so sorry to hear about your dad! It sounds like a wonderfl memorial service.
The HoHoHo readathon is always fun. I haven’t done it the last couple of years but I’m hoping to have time to this year.
Hope you have a wonderful week!!
Thank you Greg. And I hope you get to join this years HoHoHo RAT as well 😉
I’m just getting into the #HoHoHoRAT and enjoying it. Thanks for being an Elf!
Anne – Books of My Heart This is my Sunday Post
I’m glad you’re joining the fun Anne 😉
I haven’t been around for a few months, so I’m sorry to hear about your dad’s passing. I’m glad the service was nice.
The HP advent calendar looks amazing! I would be tempted to open them all at once 🙂
Enjoy your week!
Thank you Jen. It has definitely been a hard few months.
I totally get it, I still think about my mom a lot, and she passed a couple years ago. I hope your grief brings you relief eventually!
Thank you Rachel. Hugs!
Dearest Maureen!
Aaah, I hear your heartache. It takes time. Remember – give time, time.
I love your advent calendar. I know they had a few at our local book shop last year, not as nice as yours though. Wonder if they’ll have it again this year!
Have a good week, read a lovely, emotional book and take care of yourself.
Thanks Mareli. It’s hard to remember myself that it’s okay to not be okay.
I am so sorry to hear about your dad, that must be so hard not knowing if you will see him again. I am religious and it has helped me so much especially through grief. Keeping you and your family in my prayers.
It looks like you received some great books this week! I can’t wait to read the Catherine Cowles. LOVE the HP advent calendar though.
