It’s a simple agreement: for one month, Silas is my boyfriend of convenience.Once this is over, we’ll go our separate ways. It’s fake, after all.
I need some arm candy to prove to my ex-fiancé that I’ve moved on.He needs his old-fashioned boss to think he’s ready to settle down.Perfect, right? Except for one minor detail: we can’t stand each other.
Silas thinks I’m a stuck-up ice queen. I think he’s a cocky, obnoxious jerk who’s always trying to charm his way out of trouble – and succeeding. He’s the beloved golden boy. I’m the awkward new girl in town.
It would be the worst idea ever, except… everyone falls for it.That’s the thing about pretending to date someone: it looks just like real dating. And the other thing about pretending to date someone? It feels like real dating.
The heated kisses in my office: fake. The possessive way he touches me: fake. The night we spend together in a hotel bed: …maybe not so fake.
One month. Then this charade is over.

After reading and loving some of Roxie Noir’s previous books, I knew I wanted to read more books by her. So when I received an ARC sign up for ‘The One Month Boyfriend’, I knew I had to sign up right away. And when the ARC arrived on my Kindle, I got super excited and started reading as soon as possible.

In ‘ The One Month Boyfriend’ we meet Kat. Kat is struggling with anxiety, and a horrible ex. When her ex comes back into her life, all she feels is anger and frustration. So when she learns Silas, a guy she has known for years and actually doesn’t really like all that much, is looking for a ‘pretend girlfriend’, she finds herself volunteering for the job. Now she can show her horrible ex, what he is missing out on. But how can you pretend to date a guy you really don’t like?

What I enjoyed about ‘One Month Boyfriend’ from the start, was the fact that the two main characters where not perfect at all. Sometimes in books, the main characters seem to be all perfect with the exception of one little thing. I look at my own life, and things are great.. but definitely not perfect. So when I read about Kat and Silas and got to know them, I loved how imperfect they were. They sounded real to me, and I loved that.

One of the most fun things about this read was how Kat and Silas really didn’t like each other at first. It made for some very funny moments. They where definitely two very different people, and they had some fair reasons for disliking one another. And now they are stuck trying to make people believe they love each other. Funny stuff!

Kat is dealing with an anxiety disorder, and Silas is struggling with PTSD. They definitely shouldn’t work, but they do and I loved how they made each other better throughout this read. The romance between these too was enjoyable, but I honestly didn’t ‘feel’ it as much as I’d hoped. Don’t get me wrong, I loved their relationship but not as much as I’d liked their ‘friendship’.

Overall ‘The One Month Boyfriend’ was a fun read and it definitely made me remember why I enjoyed Roxie Noir’s previous books so much.

About Roxie Noir

I love writing sexy, alpha men and the headstrong women they fall for.

My weaknesses include: beards, whiskey, nice abs with treasure trails, sarcasm, cats, prowess in the kitchen, prowess in the bedroom, forearm tattoos, and gummi bears.

I live in California with my very own sexy, bearded, whiskey-loving husband and two hell-raising cats.
