Isn’t this a hard one! My Favorite Book Blog to visit.. Sigh.. There are so many great Book Blogs out there it’s almost impossible to pick just only one. But if I have to choose I’ll have to go with the one book blog I visit frequently to get new reading ideas from: Kimberly at Caffeinated Reviewer.

https://caffeinatedbookreviewer.com/
Kimberly reads and listens to so many great books and I always have a lot more books on my TBR list after I visited her blog. I also love participating in her Sunday Post (although I haven’t been doing that much lately due to my little break) and her HoHoHo ReadAThon. And there is so much more fun stuff going on over there.. If you haven’t visited the Caffeinated Reviewer yet, you definitely should ASAP.

Review 'The Duke Can Go To The Devil' by Erin Knightley

https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/36448787-the-duke-can-go-to-the-devil
In the new novel from the bestselling author of The Earl I Adore, May Bradford isn’t afraid to play devil’s advocate when it comes to a duke.…

After her mother’s death, May’s sea captain father sends her halfway around the world to live with his stodgy sister in England. The summer festival in Bath made for a lovely distraction, but now she can’t wait for her father’s return so she can leave this country, its suffocating rules, and one infuriatingly proper nobleman in particular behind.

Because he is the Duke of Radcliffe, William Spencer’s whole life revolves around his duties. He never steps foot outside the bounds of proper behavior, and he expects the same of those around him. With her devil-may-care ways, May vexes him nearly as much as she tempts him, but there’s something about her that he just can’t resist. He knows he’s falling hard for her, but with lives that are worlds apart, will they ever be able to find any common ground?

My Review:

I love reading Historical Romance novels. I have moments when all I want to is read that genre of books. Historical Romance just has this magic to it, and I love being swept away to a time long ago when people wore these beautiful clothes and a lot of men were chivalrous. Reading Historical Romance is definitely the perfect way to relax if you ask me. So when I found ‘The Duke Can Go to the Devil’ waiting for me to read, I just couldn’t resist and started reading as soon as possible. ‘The Duke Can Go to the Devil’ is the third book in the Prelude to a Kiss series, and can be read as a standalone.

In ‘The Duke Can Go to the Devil’ we meet May Bradford. May isn’t like your average young woman. May has grown up sailing the seas with her parents and visiting lots of different countries. Growing up traveling also means a lot of the ‘normal’ British etiquette is lost on her. So when May’s mother dies and her father leaves her with her aunt in Bath, May is definitely the odd one out. And May isn’t afraid to speak her mind. So when May meets the seemingly arrogant Duke of Radcliffe, William Spencer she isn’t afraid to tell him what she thinks of him. But what they both didn’t expect is the attraction that is immediate between them.

I loved May’s character. She was definitely unlike most woman you find in Historical Romance novels. May was honest, direct, funny and had some very different routines than most people in Bath. And I loved reading about her. May’s character definitely made me laugh a lot. And the chemistry between May and William was just perfect. You could almost feel it coming through the pages and because they were so different and both really stubborn they made for some very funny scenes.

I definitely loved reading ‘The Duke Can Go to the Devil’. I read this book in one setting, and it was just the perfect read to get me out of my reading slump. Although you definitely expect a certain ending to this kind of book, I loved the way I was still surprised by certain things.

And that cover from the Piatkus version of ‘The Duke Can Go to the Devil’ is definitely something I liked too. I love the black red combination and the way you instantly see which kind of genre this book is.

Though she is now a USA TODAY Bestselling Author, Erin Knightley's path to becoming a novelist was far from linear. Despite being an avid reader and closet writer her whole life, Erin decided to pursue a sensible career in science. It was only after earning her B.S. and working in the field for years that she realized doing the sensible thing wasn't any fun at all. Following her dreams, Erin left her practical side behind and now spends her days writing, her mind happily in the Regency period as she types away on her very modern laptop. My Favorite.. Dream

My Favorite.. is a weekly meme hosted by Maureen’s Books. In this meme we share every week something we love with each other. Because let’s face it.. The world can be a dark place and it’s time to share something positive. For more info and the upcoming subjects visit the My Favorite Meme. page.

My Favorite.. Dream. Well, this is a hard one. There are so many things I’d like to do and hope to see one day. And my dreams always change. Or should I tell you about my favorite sleep dream? Well, I can be short about that.. I almost never dream. And when I do I can barely remember it when I wake-up. I do dream more now that I am pregnant, but these dreams are pretty weird and all over the place.

Ever since I can remember my dream has been to go to London and the US. One of those dreams came true three years ago, when I visited London two times in the same year with my husband. Amazing, and I can’t wait to go again. But visiting the US hasn’t been in the cards so far. But I am sure, and determined to make that dream happen one day.

My biggest dream at the moment, is to meet our baby girl and make sure she is healthy and has the best and happiest life she can possible dream of having. I want her life to be filled with joy, hope and obviously some great books and stories. Sigh.. I’m almost 30 weeks pregnant now.. and I can’t think of much else than holding our baby girl in our arms. So.. That’s definitely my favorite dream at the moment.

My Favorite.. Thing To Do Next To Reading

My Favorite.. is a weekly meme hosted by Maureen’s Books. In this meme we share every week something we love with each other. Because let’s face it.. The world can be a dark place and it’s time to share something positive. For more info and the upcoming subjects visit the My Favorite Meme. page.
There are many things I enjoy doing next to reading. But with a full-time job and trying to have a little bit of a social life, reading is the thing I priorities on doing. So I don’t have a lot of spare time left for other things. But when I do have the time I really enjoy blogging, cooking for my husband and watching movies.

But my all-time favorite thing to do, next to reading is going on a date night with my husband and trying out new restaurants or old favorites. I love going out to dinner and taste some great food and just enjoy spending time together. We try to do that as much as we can, and as much as our wallets allow us too. LOL!! When the baby comes, this will obviously be a little more difficult to do.. but we still plan on making sure we have a night for just the two of us maybe once a month.

Sigh.. I can’t wait for our next night out.

My Favorite.. Thing About Being A Reader

My Favorite.. is a weekly meme hosted by Maureen’s Books. In this meme we share every week something we love with each other. Because let’s face it.. The world can be a dark place and it’s time to share something positive. For more info and the upcoming subjects visit the My Favorite Meme. page.

This week’s subject was kind of easy for me. The best thing about being a reader is definitely the way I can totally lose myself in a book without noticing what happens around me. When I have a hard day I can come home and completely lose myself in a book. Getting away from the real world sometimes really is what I need. And it always surprises me when I hear people around me saying they can’t do that. It’s so easy for me, that I can’t imagine that not everyone can do that. Some people just can’t get away through reading a great book. After hearing that for the first time, I always feel so lucky that I do have that ability. And that books can make me feel better and relaxed when the world isn’t that easy.

What is your favorite thing about being a reader?

Review 'The One You Can't Forget' by Roni Loren

https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/36568029-the-one-you-can-t-forget
Most days Rebecca Lindt feels like an imposter...

The world admires her as a survivor. But that impression would crumble if people knew her secret. She didn't deserve to be the one who got away. But nothing can change the past, so she's thrown herself into her work. She can't dwell if she never slows down.

Wes Garrett is trying to get back on his feet after losing his dream restaurant, his money, and half his damn mind in a vicious divorce. But when he intervenes in a mugging and saves Rebecca―the attorney who helped his ex ruin him―his simple life gets complicated.

Their attraction is inconvenient and neither wants more than a fling. But when Rebecca's secret is put at risk, both discover they could lose everything, including what they never realized they needed: each other

She laughed and kissed him. This morning she'd melted down. But somehow this man had her laughing and turned on only a few hours later. Everything inside her felt buoyed.

She felt...light.

She'd forgotten what that felt like.

My Review:

‘The One You Can’t Forget’ is the second book in the The Ones Who Got Away series. I read the first book in this series, ‘The One Who Got Away’ in January of this year and completely devoured it. I really loved every single page of that book. So when I was saw the second book ‘The One You Can’t Forget’ on Netgalley, I just knew I had to request that book. And I was super excited when I found out I was approved to read this book.

In ‘The One You Can’t Forget’ we meet Rebecca Lindt. Rebecca is one of the survivors of the Long Acre High Shooting and ever since High School Rebecca worked hard to get where she is today. Rebecca is a successful divorce attorney and working hard to become partner in her dads law firm. Rebecca works long hours and doesn’t have a lot of free time. But that’s the way she likes it. Free time makes you think about stuff. And that’s the last thing she wants.
When Rebecca meets Wes Garrett he is everything she doesn’t want. Divorced, a troublesome past and an alcohol problem. But the attraction between Rebecca and Wes is immediate. And although they both don’t want it.. they can’t stay away from each other.

Since I loved the first book in this series, I had very high expectations of the second book. And I was definitely not disappointed. Rebecca and Wes are both two great characters I loved getting to know. Although it seems they have nothing in common, they connect with each other from the moment they met. The attraction is instant and the chemistry between them is just addicting to read about. I loved how they slowly got to know each other better and how they both made each other better.

This series is just one of those I can’t seem to get enough of. I love the characters, the story lines and the emotions, and I just want to read more. Although this book is the second book in the series, you can read it as a standalone. But I’m glad I was able to read the first book first, just so I knew a little more about the shooting.

My Review:

‘All Night With The Cowboy’ is the second book in the River Ranch series. I read the first book, ‘Cowboy Stole My Heart’ in January and really loved it. So I was super excited when I received a request to read this second book. Although this book is part of a series, it can be read as a standalone.

In ‘All Night With The Cowboy’ we meet Tanner Ford. Tanner is the son of one the richest Texas families. But instead of working on his family’s ranch, Tanner rides bulls. This is his passion and he made his own fortune with it. But one day, he sustains serious injuries which make it difficult to believe he will ever be back bull riding again. But Tanner is determined to get back at it. Unfortunately this means he needs the help of the finest physical therapist in town Lauren Lewis. And Lauren Lewis is the last person he wants to see. It’s been twelve years since she broke his heart and he made a promise to himself to never get that vulnerable with anyone ever again.

From the moment I started reading this book I was hooked. I loved the previous book in the series, so I had very high expectations with this one. And thankfully it was every bit as good as I hoped it would be. I love stories about Cowboys and close families, and this book had it both. But the best part was definitely the romance between Tanner and Lauren.

When Tanner and Lauren where seniors in High School they had a very intense romance. Everyone, including themselves, believed they would marry one day. But Lauren made a decision and left Tanner, and herself, heartbroken without any explanation. I loved the way Tanner and Lauren had this past together. A lot of the times these romance novels include a ‘new’ romance, but this story was even better because of their history. The chemistry was definitely flying of the pages and I loved reading every single page.

What made this book even better for me was the way Tanner and Lauren both tried to keep their distance from one another. It didn’t work, but it was fun to read about there struggle to keep things simple professional.
Tanner and Lauren were both also very nice characters to get to know. Although I didn’t really get Lauren’s decision of ending their relationship back then, I definitely was impressed by what she achieved.

The one thing I didn’t get in this book was the ending. Although it was definitely good, it also felt a little rushed to me. One minute they were on this Island and the next they were back. And that endometrioses part, I didn’t get why that was a part of the story. It didn’t seem to really fit.

But overall another great book that I’d definitely recommend. I can’t wait to read the next one.
