The Sunday Post #78: The New Year

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimberly the Caffeinated Book Reviewer ~ Its a chance to share news ~ A Post to recap the past week on your blog, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up on our blog for the week ahead.

Happy New Year!! I hope you all had a great time celebrating. We had a wonderful time, and I simply cannot believe the first year of 2018 is already coming to its end.

This week was, like always in the first week of the year, nice and slow. My husband and I were both still free on Monday and Tuesday which was really nice. We watched some movies and I did some blogging. On Wednesday, Thursday and Friday I had to work. But since still a lot of people have time off this week, there were almost no traffic jams. And this makes my life a lot easier. I was home at 5 p.m. and I almost felt like I was still having a free day. If only traffic could always be like this!

On Friday I had dinner at a girlfriends house. It was really good to catch up after not having seen each other for a while. And this weekend is spend cleaning, doing some errands and trying to relax. The next two weeks will be crazy busy, so I’m trying do enjoy my piece and quiet at the moment.

Books & Blogging:

I haven’t been able to read as much lately as I’d like. I’ve been having some concentration problems, which hopefully gets better soon. I’m not too worried though! Meanwhile I’ve been on a blogging spree. I’ve been trying to do some blogging ahead, which is my new years resolution, and it’s been going pretty good so far.
BTW.. I'm having a fun #Giveaway on this weeks My Favorite post.

  1. Glad you had a good New Year! And a mostly quiet first week of the year. I like how January is quiet after the hustle and bustle of the holidays, it helps to unwind.

The Phantom Tree looks pretty awesome!

    1. Thanks Greg. That's definitely a great thing about January! I also like the feeling of starting fresh.. Not that I start fresh in January.. but if I wanted too.. this would be the perfect time. LOL!
      Happy New Year Greg!

  2. I've also been trying to blog ahead (though I haven't been very successful so far). Hopefully we will both be able to keep up with it throughout the year. Have a good week, and enjoy your time before the crazy weeks attack!

  3. I think you just need some time off reading and your concentration will be fine :) and if you've been on a blogging spree, it all works out.. Sometimes we have to change up what we do :)

    1. You're probably right. But I just hate not being able to read as much as I'd like too. Sigh..
I'm excited to start reading 'Senlin Ascends'. It sounds like a great one.
Happy New Year and Happy Reading! ;)

  4. Happy New Year! I also had a quiet week, I only worked Tuesday and Wednesday and Saturday and it was really quiet. We've been sick in our household so I haven't had much time for reading. I hope the rest of the year runs smoothly for you!

  6. I hope your concentrations improves. I had a lapse yesterday myself when I walked into WalMart and could not remember for the life of me what I was even there to get. I've been on a good blogging front, too, but I didn't touch the reviews I need to write. *sigh* I hope you have a great week!

  7. Happy New Year Maureen! :) My first week of 2018 was also quiet. Sadly, I've a feeling I will not have a week as quiet as his one so soon.

I'm sure your concentration will return soon. Just take some time off reading. Or re-read a favourite.

    Happy readings! ;)

    1. Thanks Tania. Happy New Year to you too.
That are some great tips. I've been re-reading Harry Potter, that always makes me feel much better.
      Happy Reading!
