Happy New Year

Happy New Year everyone!! I hope 2018 will bring you lots of love, happiness and obviously some great books to read.

Did you have fun celebrating last night? We definitely had fun. We spend the day watching movies and eating all sorts of yummy stuff. Just the two of us, just like we celebrate it every year. At twelve p.m. we went outside to watch the fireworks and we went over to friends who live near us. After a drink and a snack we went back home. It was definitely a good night.

And now it’s 2018!! Can you guys believe it? It never stops to amaze me how fast time goes. But January 1st is always a good day for me. We try to sleep in, and then it’s time for some major cleaning. I always love Christmas and New Year’s, but on January 1st I’m ready to take all the decorations down and I do some major cleaning. And that’s what I did today! Yes. I already cleaned out the Christmas tree and all the decorations and it isn’t even 2 p.m. yet. LOL!! I love how clean everything is now. What are your plans today?

As to New Year’s resolutions, I don’t have any this year. I’m just trying to relax more, and don’t plan as much as I normally do. Sometimes being the perfectionist and control freak that I am, makes life pretty difficult. And I’m trying to be a more ‘going with the flow’ kind of girl. We’ll see.

Blogging wise this year I’m going to make more posts ahead of time! I always say I’m doing that, but I’m never able too. This year I just have too!! I’m determined! Ow.. and I’m going to try and use less emotions. I use emotions for everything and it’s just crazy really. I hate it, and it just has to stop! Whaha.. Let’s hope I can manage!

Have a great day!

  1. What a nice way to bring in the New Year! We had a relatively quiet New Year's Eve--a movie, hot fudge sundaes, playing Just Dance (at my daughter's urging), and banging our pots and pans at the stroke of midnight.

I cleaned house yesterday, although the Christmas decorations are still up. I'll probably take those down next weekend. My mom told my daughter the story of the Three Wise Men and now my daughter wants to wait until after the 6th to take them down. I could be mean and do it already, but I won't. Haha

I hope you have a Happy New Year, Maureen!

    1. Sounds like you had a great evening too. I love the whole banging with pots and pans bit. I think they will soon forbid all those fireworks here, and maybe we can join that tradition.

LOL!! No, very good.. don't be mean. I just love getting our home back after New Years. We don't have a big home, but we do have a big tree every year. So cleaning out the tree leaves us with a lot of free space.

Happy New Year to you too Wendy!
