Books I Plan To Read This Year

As a fanatic book reader there are many books out there I still hope and want to read. To be honest there seem to be more books out there that I’d like to read than ever. And today I’d like to share a view with you. Some books have been out there for a long time, some just got published and some won’t be published for months, but I for one can’t wait to read them.

'A Court of Mist and Fury' by Sarah J. Maas

Feyre survived Amarantha's clutches to return to the Spring Court—but at a steep cost. Though she now has the powers of the High Fae, her heart remains human, and it can't forget the terrible deeds she performed to save Tamlin's people.

Nor has Feyre forgotten her bargain with Rhysand, High Lord of the feared Night Court. As Feyre navigates its dark web of politics, passion, and dazzling power, a greater evil looms—and she might be key to stopping it. But only if she can harness her harrowing gifts, heal her fractured soul, and decide how she wishes to shape her future—and the future of a world cleaved in two.

With more than a million copies sold of her beloved Throne of Glass series, Sarah J. Maas's masterful storytelling brings this second book in her seductive and action-packed series to new heights.

'Darker' by E.L. James

https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/32024902-darker?ac=1&from_search=trueE L James revisits the world of Fifty Shades with a deeper and darker take on the love story that has enthralled millions of readers around the globe.

Their scorching, sensual affair ended in heartbreak and recrimination, but Christian Grey cannot get Anastasia Steele out of his mind, or his blood. Determined to win her back, he tries to suppress his darkest desires and his need for complete control, and to love Ana on her own terms.

But the horrors of his childhood still haunt him, and Ana’s scheming boss, Jack Hyde, clearly wants her for himself. Can Christian’s confidant and therapist, Dr. Flynn, help him face down his demons? Or will the possessiveness of Elena, his seducer, and the deranged devotion of Leila, his former submissive, drag Christian down into the past?

And if Christian does win Ana back, can a man so dark and damaged ever hope to keep her?

Emma Carstairs is a warrior, a Shadowhunter, and the best in her generation. She lives for battle. All Emma, Mark, and Julian have to do is solve the murders within two weeks…and before the murderer targets them.

Their search takes Emma from sea caves full of sorcery to a dark lottery where death is dispensed. And each clue she unravels uncovers more secrets. What has Julian been hiding from her all these years? Why does Shadowhunter Law forbid parabatai to fall in love? Who really killed her parents—and can she bear to know the truth?

'Pop Goes The Weasel' by M.J. Arlidge

https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/22236161-pop-goes-the-weasel
DI Helen Grace returns in Pop Goes the Weasel, the electrifying new thriller from M. J. Arlidge.

The body of a middle-aged man is discovered in Southampton's red-light district - horrifically mutilated, with his heart removed.

Hours later - and barely cold - the heart arrives with his wife and children by courier.

A pattern emerges when another male victim is found dead and eviscerated, his heart delivered soon afterwards.

The media call it Jack the Ripper in reverse; revenge against the men who lead sordid double lives visiting prostitutes. For Grace, only one thing is certain: there's a vicious serial-killer at large who must be halted at all costs . . .

There are many more books I’d like to read this year. And if you’re a reader yourself, you’ll probably know that I’m adding books to this list as we speak. But you’ll get an idea. ;)

Have you read any of these books? Or is one of them on your TBR?

  1. YES! A Court of Mist and Fury and Lady Midnight are super long but well worth the read. If you like paranormal fantasy these are both wonderful. I've heard of Fifty Shades of Grey but have not read any of those books. Something tells me they aren't for me though IDK. I don't like sex when it is all about it. I like a good story to go along with that sorta thing.

    1. I really can't wait to start reading these. If you ask me Fifty Shades is about so much more than the sex.. people who don't like it say that it's all about that. But I honestly loved the story more because of the relationship between the main characters, and the struggles they had to go through because of their past.
      Thanks for stopping by! ;)
