Review 'Waiting For Wren' by Cate Beauman
Wren Cooke has everything she’s ever wanted—a thriving career as one of LA’s top interior designers and a home she loves. Business trips, mockups, and her demanding clientele keep her busy, almost too busy to notice Ethan Cooke Security’s gorgeous Close Protection Agent, Tucker Campbell.

Jaded by love and relationships in general, Wren wants nothing to do with the hazel-eyed stunner and his heart-stopping grins, but Tucker is always in her way. When Wren suddenly finds herself bombarded by a mysterious man’s unwanted affections, she’s forced to turn to Tucker for help.

As Wren’s case turns from disturbing to deadly, Tucker whisks her away to his mountain home in Utah. Haunted by memories and long-ago tragedies, Tucker soon realizes his past and Wren’s present are colliding. With a killer on the loose and time running out, Tucker must discover a madman’s motives before Wren becomes his next victim.

My Review:

If you didn’t already know, I’ve been a huge fan of Cate Beauman and her books ever since I read ‘Falling For Sarah’ in July. Ever since then, I’ve been lucky enough to have the opportunity to read more books by Cate Beauman in the Bodyguards of L.A. County series. I’ve been wanting to read the story of Wren, Ethan’s younger sister ever since I read his story in ‘Falling For Sarah’. This is the seventh book in the series I read, but every book can be read as a standalone.

Wren has her own company in interior designs, and she works almost every single hour to make her company a success. And it is. With rich and famous customers Wren is getting more and more successful every day. But when a stalker is getting more aggressive, leaving dead cats by her door, Tucker, the handsome bodyguard who works for Wren’s brother needs to get Wren away from L.A. Although it’s definitely nice that Tucker want’s to protect Wren, the last thing Wren needs is to be alone with Tucker. Wren doesn’t want romance or any kind of distraction. And ever since she met Tucker months ago, distracted is what she is. Especially since Tucker is determined to make Wren his. But a stalker, and a horrific past will make things very hard for Wren and Tucker.

‘Waiting For Wren’ definitely was another exciting, thrilling and romantic story. There were a lot of moments that made me sit on the edge of my seat, desperate to find out more about the stalker and serial killer. I was intrigued by the mystery of who the stalker was, and I kept guessing until the very end. Cate Beauman definitely had me wondering about what was really going on a lot. And I enjoyed every moment of it.

The two main characters Wren and Tucker weren’t my favorite to be honest. It took me a while to really ‘feel’ their chemistry. Maybe it was because the story went pretty fast in the beginning, slow in the middle, and again very fast near the end. I felt like I didn’t really knew the characters all that well to be able to really connect with them. Maybe because they supposedly already had chemistry for months, but we only got to read about it months into their ‘relationship’.

Still, this was another great story that kept me hooked until the very end. And I’m curious to learn what Cate Beauman has in store for us next.
