Wednesday's Favorites: Darling Beast by Elizabeth Hoyt

Welcome to the Wednesday's Favorites post. In the Wednesday's Favorites post I will talk about a book I loved and that I think deserves a little more attention. I read popular books, but also many books that aren’t so popular (yet). In this post all sorts of books from all sorts of genre’s will have a chance to shine. Today’s Wednesday's Favorites is 'Darling Beast' by Elizabeth Hoyt, a book I read in October 2014.

About the Book:
A man condemned…

Falsely accused of murder and mute from a near-fatal beating, Apollo Greaves, Viscount Kilbourne has escaped from Bedlam. With the Crown's soldiers at his heels, he finds refuge in the ruins of a pleasure garden, toiling as a simple gardener. But when a vivacious young woman moves in, he's quickly driven to distraction . . .

A desperate woman…

London's premier actress, Lily Stump, is down on her luck when she's forced to move into a scorched theatre with her maid and small son. But she and her tiny family aren't the only inhabitants-a silent, hulking beast of a man also calls the charred ruins home. Yet when she catches him reading her plays, Lily realizes there's more to this man than meets the eye.

Out of ash, desire flares..

Though scorching passion draws them together, Apollo knows that Lily is keeping secrets. When his past catches up with him, he's forced to make a choice: his love for Lily . . . or the explosive truth that will set him free.

Praise for 'Darling Beast':

The book is part of the Maiden Lane series, but is also a standalone story and it didn’t detract from my enjoyment of the book that I hadn’t read any of the others in the series. I loved the growing attraction between Lily and Apollo and his sweet relationship with her young son.

There isn’t much I didn’t like about Darling Beast. The romance, the sex scenes, the mystery, they all kept me engaged from the first page to the last. There were even a few surprises at the end that made this story richer and the heroine and hero even more appealing.

I loved the story that Ms Hoyt created.  It’s an obvious play on the classic fairy tale, Beauty and the Beast, but quite original and enjoyable.  The twists and turns as well as the spark between Apollo and Lily had me turning the pages.

This book definitely was worth reading and it never got boring. I would definitely recommend this book to all romantic book lovers. This book is not only romantic and beautiful but it also has a sexy twist to it. Definitely one to check out! ;)
