About 'Miss Mabel's School for Girls' (The Network Series #1):
Never Underestimate the Power of a Determined Witch.

Letum Wood is a forest of fog and deadfall, home to the quietly famous Miss Mabel’s School for Girls, a place where young witches learn the art of magic.

Sixteen-year-old Bianca Monroe has inherited a deadly curse. Determined to break free before it kills her, she enrolls in the respected school to confront the cunning witch who cast the curse: Miss Mabel.  Bianca finds herself faced with dark magic she didn’t expect, with lessons more dangerous than she could have ever imagined. Will Bianca have the courage to save herself from the curse, or will Miss Mabel’s sinister plan be too powerful?

Miss Mabel’s School for Girls is the first novel in The Network Series, an exciting new fantasy collection. A gripping tale about the struggle to survive, it will take you to a new place and time, one you’ll never want to leave.

About 'Antebellum Awakening' (The Network Series #2):

Never underestimate the power of a volatile witch.

Still reeling in the wake of her mother’s death, sixteen-year-old Bianca Monroe is forced to move to Chatham Castle. Not even the sudden appearance of ancient dragons in haunted Letum Wood nor her two best friends can distract her from the strength of her deep, dark rage.  Her grief puts her magical powers into chaos, endangering any witch around her. She has six months left to destroy the curse that will kill her and fulfill her contract with the most cunning enemy of all: her former teacher Miss Mabel.  Bianca must make a choice: learn to control her restless powers, or let the powers control her.

Antebellum Awakening is the second book in the thrilling new fantasy collection The Network Series. It’s a haunting tale about tragedy, loss, and the power of moving on.

About 'The Isadora's Interviews' (The Network Series #1.5): is a quiet, old witch living alone in the fog-strewn forest of Letum Wood. Her magical power is great, but her foresight is even greater. My Review of 'Miss Mabel's School for Girls':

When I first heard about 'Miss Mabel's School For Girls' I was a little skeptical about this book. The title made me think of a book I read in my teens, and I was afraid that this book would be for a much younger crowd. But the book description sounded really interesting, and after I read some reviews on Goodreads, I decided that I really wanted to give this book a try. I signed up for the blog tour as fast as I could.

In 'Miss Mabel's School For Girls' we meet Bianca, a sixteen year old who has waited her whole life to be able to attend Miss Mabel's school for Girls. When the day comes that Bianca finally gets the chance to prove herself, she is nervous but very determined. Nothing will stand in her way! When Bianca finally does get excepted, she is grateful but also a little scared. Getting excepted on Miss Mabel's School For Girls, is not Bianca’s only task, now she needs to become Miss Mabel’s personal student. If not, her life will be over soon.

From the moment I started reading this book I was hooked. I didn’t think I would like this book, but in the end I loved it. The writing is very easy to follow and definitely makes you want to keep on reading. And I just didn’t want to stop.
Katie Cross created a magical world I definitely want to know even more after reading this first book. In this book the characters life in different networks, and although it’s very different.. it doesn’t seem like such an unbelievable world. I could totally imagine the world of ‘Miss Mabel’s School for Girls’ being real.

The characters are so much fun to get to know. Especially the main character Bianca. There is so much mystery surrounding her, but how further you get in the book the more gets explained. Bianca is a very strong character and I admired her strength.

This was definitely a very nice read for me. I enjoyed everything about it. The book immediately starts interesting, and it stays that way until the very end. Although I was scared this book would only be for younger people , due to the title, this book can definitely be read by any age. This book is definitely a fun, magical read. And I can’t wait to read the next book in this series.

My Rating:

About the Author:

Katie Cross grew up in the mountains of Idaho, where she still loves to play when she gets the chance. If she’s not writing, you can find her traveling, working as a pediatric nurse, trail running with her husband and two dogs, or curled up with a book and a cup of chai.
