My Review:

A couple of weeks ago I received ‘Dark Bites’ by Sherrilyn Kenyon through the Little Brown Book Group in exchange for an honest review. I never read a book by Sherrilyn Kenyon before, but it sounded like an exciting book. ‘Dark Bites’ is a collection of short stories. There are twelve short stories in this collection and there are all from the Dark-Hunter world.

Since I never read book by Sherrilyn Kenyon before, I didn’t really know what I could expect when I started reading. I must say I was pleasantly surprised about ‘Dark Bites’. These stories are filled with romance, sexy scenes, mysterious powers and many different kind of creatures. I really liked this book from the very beginning. These short stories are all very different, meaning they are about many different characters but all these stories are filled with a lot of romance. This was just the perfect book to read on a cold and rainy day.

The stories I liked the most where definitely ‘House of The Rising Son’ and ‘Winter Born’. In ‘House of The Rising Son’ we read about Aricles and a lot of different Greek Gods and I really enjoyed that story. Especially because I haven’t read a lot of books about Greek Gods and I found the story very original. And Aricles was a perfect character. He was so pure good and I could totally imagine him being surrounded by many girls but him just having eye for one girl. Sigh!!!!
And in ‘Winter Born’ I really loved Dante. In the beginning I thought he would be this very arrogant handsome guy but later on I realized he was just a normal guy with a lot of unresolved fears from his childhood.

‘Dark Bites’ was definitely a really nice read. Although sometimes I would feel sad that the stories where so short,  I also got really excited to soon read a new story. I would definitely recommend this book for the holidays. I think there the perfect mix of fantasy, romance and action. And because the stories are so short, you can easily read a story before dinner! :D
